Gold edition sub skins?

I just bought the gold edition from steam and i guess im supposed to have new skins for my sub shown here http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/53280/Silent-Hunter-V-Battle-Of-The-Atlantic-Gold-Edition-Announced only this is I cant figure out how to use them, I went to the guy who sells upgrades for my sub inside where im docked. ive only completed the training and the second mission after that though, maybe i need to complete more of the game to get them.

I think they show up on the AI only.

They aren't "skins", Ubisoft was silly when they called them that.

It's just 3 AI subs and 4 AI ships you might run across. You can't paint your sub with them.

I think those skins are in the game even on the normal version, just not used. I checked some of the conning tower skins in the textures/tnormal/tex folder and some surely looked the same as those renders. :haha:

EDIT: Found the U552 conning tower skin too, not sure tho if that is one of the "historical U-boats" in the gold edition.

You mean actually change the sub thru configs etc. or just the skin?

Yes the 3 are AI subs
Have their own mis layer - \Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\Campaigns\CampaignProjects\Common\__Collect orsEdition

Open the collectors edition mis and you will see the movements of the U30,U99 and U552

But errors in Mission editor as not added to the generator node in Kiel or no patrol node on map

So it wont work ingame

LOL. so my collector Ed. skins are useless. except for looking at in museum. :damn:

No, I'm sure the subs & ships work in the Collector's Edition, but the thing is, the skins and stuff are also included in the normal edition.

But yeh, if you bought it just for the skins, then yeah, I'd say it's useless. You can use the skins on normal edition aswell via some modding. :O:

Yeah, I tried to add the U-99.dds as equipment to Node E01 on a VIIB like it was in the equipment config file for the collector's edition AI sub. I'm guessing player subs won't have an E01 node maybe? Or perhaps I'm not sure how to reskin a sub. heh

You mean the 28 gauge (0.321mm) tin coated plastic box. :hmmm:

The paint on the tin is thicker than the actuale tin. :haha:
