I am getting about 16 fps inside the damn boat and high 50s on the bridge and looking at convoys from free cam, etc.
Is that normal that inside the uboot one gets pooooor framerates?

Turn shadows and AA off
also you may want to try the following
with sh running, press ctrl + alt + del. this will open the system manager
select the processes tab and left click SH5.exe
change the priorities to "high" or "real time"
resume your game
also, you may try this mod:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=163847
it changes the light in the game and (at least for me) reduces the impact on FPS in the interior of the boat.
Glad if I could be of any help :salute:

Turning shadows off sucks a lot, but HELPS a lot.
Turning AA off makes the game utterly unplayable and unacceptably ugly, but HELPS a lot.
It's a big trade off, quality vs playability, but try first with no shadows.

It seems to gain a few frames when you set AA to zero in the game, but rather use the GFX control panel to control AA.

I got those turned off and must say itīs not nearly ugly here :DL
Donīt know why but it works fine
Maybe something with my nvidia control panel, go figure...
I had to put another gig to my rig (playing with 2 gb ram now) and runs very well and very beautifull (still some minor issues with FPS inside the sub, but not THAT BAD like before)
EDIT: YAY! Iīm a Bosun now LOL
