Hello,

Yesterday when i was playing SHV, my first officer was telling me that the torpedo guy had an idea to change our torpedoes into surface mines or something like that and that i should go talk to him about it. Onfortunatly at the moment i was talking to my first officer, the boat was rocking so much that the conversation screen disappeared before he was finished talking.

After that i went to the torpedo guy and he had absolutely no conversation options.

So my question now is: does anyone know if it is possible to change a torpedo into a surface mine?

I was really excited when i read what the first officer said because i thought it would be really awesome to lay some minetorpedoes in front of an upcoming convoy.

It will come up as an option on your next patrol, i have declined his idear every time. but i think the idear is like the LUT torps of the later part of the war were they run in a straight line so many 100's of yards then start to loop to the right so many 100 yards then loop left so many 100s yards till they hit somthing or run out of steam. if thats his idear i dont know ?.

Both times the XO has special dialogue for me the box has disappeared before I could even read it or select a response.

first time is when he was complaining about the crew making fun of him. Second time all I could pick up was "The Torpedoman..." before it disappeared :(

I went through the conversations and said yes. The Torpedo man agreed. I am still waiting to somehow see mines.

Yeah, this has been posted about a couple times before.
No one knows why the torpedoman seems to change his mind after getting his "brilliant" idea. He just decides it's not worth it.
Maybe with the next patch...
