Is there any point in moving into this game? Even after modding? If i understood the campaign ends in 1942? Isnt even dynamic? Im considering buing it for support of the genre and giving it to relatives kids. Thats not right either morally. I really am dissapointed.:nope:
SH5 with dynamic campaign + AI U-boats (and there are good reasons to believe that someday real wolfpacks will be in) + mods will be a LOT better than SH3, IMHO.
The keywords are dynamic campaign and wolfpacks:rock:, HUGE difference over SH3.
oh, I forgot, I guess someday the whole interior will be a lot better, let's hope.
oh, I forgot, real milk cows. (without ending mission).
Personally, I'm tired to be the only one in the war (SH3).

You really need to read more before you ask those kinds of questions. I haven't played it yet (and won't for awhile), but the answers are already there.
1) Your title: SH3 has the benefit of five years worth of modding. SH5 isn't even five weeks old yet. Modding now is proceding nicely, but it's barely started.
2) Some people are calling it unplayable. Others are having a great time.
3) The campaign ends toward the end of 1943. This apparently can be modded, and will be.
4) The campaign is more dynamic than anything that's come before, according to the devs.
5) I don't know about giving it to kids. Someone who has played it a lot will have to tell you how easy/hard it is for a young novice to understand.
6) What isn't right morally? The fact that it's German u-boats? The fact that you have to be connected all the time to play? The fact that it still needs work, and more patches?

You cant compare the two game at this stage.
SH3 has been out for many years and has a massive collection of mods for everyone to try, and still has a very active modding community.
SH5 on the other hand is only a few weeks old and starting out on its life.
The is a Dynamic campaign in SH5 but it is different to SH3 in a few ways.
The Campaign finishes in 1943. My bet is that any add-on released will add the last 2 years of the war to the game. But thats just my view. It is much more modifiable than previous games in the series. So i think the sky is the limit really with the game. All you really need is to give it time.
Time for the Dev's to patch the game. Then time for the great modders of the community to really get to grips with it.

Chalk and cheese
SH3 does feel homely
Ran a patrol in it today - with GWX
There is something about SH5 despite its flaws
Sure not seen a wolfpack yet or been allowed resupply at sea
Yet
With a lot of work will be pretty good given time
SH3 has had a lot of time to get where it is now
And tho I hate to say it its probably coming to somewhere close to the max the engine can take
Only so many ships and goodies you can throw in
But when SH3 has moving cranes ( modded ) and moving vehicles and ppl on the docks as well as plenty of harbour traffic I find SH5 ports rather eerie
Not the Das Boot effect the devs talked about methinks but give it time
You can always replay SH3 anyway - as I did today for a change of game
:yeah:

Yeah, pretty much what they said. SH5 just came out but there's a lot of great potential under the hood. I've been playing it pretty much nonstop since I got it. When the servers went down (again) I fired uup SH3 to pass the time. I was already acclimated to the SH5 interface and had to re-remember certain things. The modders are already making headway into this game so it's just a matter of time...

It would be much better to port SH5 to SH3 or even add into SH4 uboats if this can be done, would SH5 VII be playable in SH3 with all the eye candy so to speak. :hmmm:

WAIT.. WTF!?!?!?! Campaign ENDS AT 1943!?!?! WHHAAT!!!?! That angers me so MUCH! Half the fun of sh3 was just trying to survive the biscay run in 1942-1945! Not only that but the insane amount of task force to duck and dodge just to shoot at a merchant 10000000 meters away, maybe hit it, and get depth charged for hours real time after. Then... if u survived.. Come back feeling alone, with ur port raided and smoking, and no crowd gathered to greet you.. But hey.. you survived.. ::shivers at the old feeling:: :salute:
