Utilizing the "Next Unit" and "Previous Unit" buttons with the external camera, I see enemy ships within detection range. Are you supposed to see enemy aircraft using these buttons when aircraft are within detection range? I have never seen them.

View enemy aircraft?! Why in tarnation would you want to do that?! Best way to view enemy aircraft is through 200 feet of Pacific Ocean!

On topic, I don't know if there's a way to view aircraft like that. They may have to be closer in range. If nothing else you can probably find them with the free camera.

In SH3 you could do that but that feature was removed in SH4.

Unfortunately free cam does not click to aircraft.

This one snuck up on us, thought it was a friendly since we were close to home port of Manila :shifty:

My boat is about 160 feet under in this one

Nice screen shots, looks like #2 is a better tactic than #1:03:

Thanks for your responses. I see that you use the free camera when aircraft are very near! Too bad that you can't use the Next Unit feature ... after all the trouble in creating the planes, it would be interesting seeing them attack as you're crash diving to safety:rock:

Yep 2 is better, no need to patch holes in the boat or crew.

Nice new Avatar :salute: how long does that one stay about?

Just got me a new Avatar also

@ Hydra

After you crash dive to avoid a plane that HAS detected you just go to external view and pan back a bit. Got a pic somewhere I'll post when I find it.

Or if you have the annoying event camera enabled you can click it to go to full screen and view it from there.

Found em :D

Bit of a side note, if you have a surround sound system you can pan your view around and listen to what direction the flying thingy is coming from, course by then it's to late and you better man the AA.

If you want to view an enemy aircraft other than at -200 ft, then it's between the crosshairs of your AA gun!:yep:

If you want to follow an attack, just hit the pause button and use the freecam to find the planes, then you can follow it and pause when you want...

Nothing like lots of planes...almost funny how they send everything at you. I finally got torped by a plane, now that was funny..
