objectives in the campaign

Missing one of the objectives in the campaign seems to reset everything and now I have to do it all over again (but a new year). Don't think so, Although it is interesting the way the campaign is setup, I don't want to repeat it over again.

Why cant I just get a penalty or lack of points or something instead of a repeat? Bugger

If you don't finish a mission during a patrol it should stay active next time you go out. Are you losing tonnages sunk during patrol breaks or something? or did you pass the time available?

My last patrol I didn't keep track of time and it expired. :cry:

I have read in this forum that some players want to MOD the tonnage objective, but keep in mind that this tonnage is part of dynamic campaign and if ambitious, perhaps if you complete them each time, it will be one step toward victory.

I found a save file that took me back before the due date by at least 5 months, began my mission and started sinking boats.

I cruised for a few days then ran across a group and was taking them out one by one when the patrol ended. I know it wasn't 5 months so there is a bug in the scripting or something. I guess I just need to start over, or can I keep on killing to fill the quota required by the game?:doh:

Edit: just answered my own question. I was getting the patrol zone ending, not the deadline for the area. Dur!
