The patch is already out, just run the game updater in "gamefolder"\support\GameUpdater\gu.exe
But for Steam user (like me) we have to wait a bit :damn: and spam the support team for a date :nope: :nope:
Well hopefully thats the reason i can't log in right now.
3 times now i tried to log in and the game becomes unrespsonsize at the main menu while the "Syncrhonizing Saves" message is shown. It's trying to sync, but it just freezes.
The game seems to hang, menu music is looping at the very beginning, and I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL to kill it.
First time i experienced this one.
I was afraid of that.

I hope that sh5 doesn`t autoupdate because i have mods installed.
Welp, it seems im shipwrecked.
After 6 tries, the game just will not get past the "Syncing Save Games" message upon entering the main menu. The 1st five seconds of the menu music is just on a constant loop. It never completes the "Sync" and i have to kill the process to get out of it. I was just playing the game. Exited, Took a break, and then come back and POOF!

For some strange reason I feel happy that I cancelled my pre-order...
That seems to be the problem with this auto update.
Ubisoft know SH5 will depend on mods yet they need to give us a definate date when the autoupdate will happen so that we can uninstall mods.
The jobsworth idiot that came up with this idea should be taken somwhere and buried.
It reminds of the time when I was in the army and officers behind desks would come up with stupid mission orders to justify their existence. I can remember our platoon getting these orders and laughing as we all knew they came from someone who had never been on the ground.
Solved my problem.
I deleted the temporary garbage in:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\Storage\
Game loads up fine now. Strange.

Start the game and as soon as you see the ubilauncher hit the small button second from the right on the top and disable online save and exit. Rename or backup and del "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\storage". That should work for the sync issue. At least did for me.
PS: Damn im to slow :/

Just remember that if you turn it off, NEVER turn it on again. It will overwrite/delete your current savegames.
Turning off the sync feature doesn't work for me (as well as other people).
Regardless of that setting in the launcher, the game still tries to sync for us.

The message keeps getting displayed, yes, but I don't think it actually does.
Did that for me, but lost some progress after I switched it back on again. :hmmm:

When the 1.1 update was automatically downloaded, I actually got a prompt along the lines of "Do you want to install this update now?"
Assuming that will happen every time in future, you should have the opportunity to remove your modded files (if you use JSGME for example) before installing it, or perhaps choosing not to install it at all. But then you might find you can't launch the game, who knows?

Some people didn't go through that process after patch was auto-downloaded, and were still able to play. It's not like Steam, where you are forced to patch, as far as I know.

No it's not. That is the "old" 1.1 Patch. Don't tell me the steam-users are still playing the 1.0 retail? :stare:
I'm on steam, can i see the version of my game anywhere?

Im ceratin that a patch has been being worked on even as the first one was released. No need for anyone to tell me that.
But im also certain that it'll take longer than we'd like if for nothing else than the fact they cant make anything out of what we want for all the negativity being spilled all over the decks, and I'd take my time about it too if I had 10,000 people on forums calling me a stupid, brainless, and inept idiot all the time and constanly asking if it's done yet.

Go to your "X:\Steam\steamapps\common\silent hunter 5" Dir and right click on the sh5.exe - properties and details.

Imho, be sure they will release a few patchs. Or just abandon the game? no way. Modders can fix some problems, but no way all the hardcoded ones.

I'm pretty sure they understand, and secretly curse Ubisoft for forcing them to have their good names as programmers hauled through the e-mud like this. I just can't believe the developers thought it was ready to be released in its current state, which - negativity or no - is not that of a finished product.
It's like releasing a movie when only half the scenes are done, with rudimentary editing, microphones in the shot, bloopers in place, etc. Nobody in the movie industry would dream of doing such a thing, of course. Unfortunately, the games industry thinks it can. Go figure.
I'm sure they're working on it as fast as they can, but it's no small task.

Seems UBI are less concerned with making a bug-free game, as they are concerned with implementing and enforcing draconian DRM regimes.
IF they had prioritized right, they would get less heat.

Well, in all fairness, the DRM really wasn't a part of SH5's development cycle and is something brought into the game separately, much like Starforce back in the SH3 days. I honestly don't think that the presence of absence of DRM would have affected the game's development as such. Not that it excuses the premature release or anything...

It just gets worse and worse doesn't it. Scant regard for managing client's expectations when they should be placating the community with patch announcements and the like. A simple post in these forums would suffice, it would only cost ten minutes, perhapps they can't afford it....or perhapps they really don't care about you guys.
Oh well, there's always SH3 when yer all beat and done in. We'll welcome you back into the fold no worries ;)

Hehe.. okay sarcasm mode on, sort of.
I think the current state of the game alone is a better deterrent than the DRM.
:arrgh!:
Of course there will be a patch/patches. Without them, this game is dead.

Ok. Correction to what I said:
The publisher (NOT the developer) decided on forcing BOTH the short release date and the DRM down their throats. I don't blame UBI Romania. Just the higher up sleazebags who wants to squeeze profits from a demography. We're just a demographic statistic in their accounting.

Note that Elenaiba (spelling??? sorry), an Ubisoft Romania developer, asked not to separate Ubisoft and Ubisoft Romania. So publisher and developer belong to one and the same company. If you want to start picking them apart and blaming each part seperately, you better start asking them who really decided on what. After all this could have been a compromise or even unanimous decision.

It's kind of sad really that we have to rely on inference, vague 'hints' and out right gussing as to wether or not Ubi will furnish a second patch for their product.
The silence is concearning.

All this waiting around for a bunch of easy to fix bugs (some of them...) better pay off when they release a patch that hopefully will fix a lot of bugs. ,_,
