I love it, i dont care that it is broken, SH3 + 4 were broken as well , this is nothing new.
Being able to walk around my boat, stand face in the wind crashing through the atlantic my beard full of salt makes me happy!!
I have never been happier than this with SH3 or 4, sure my lookouts are retarded and my crew are verbally challenged but my god does this game have promise..
I actually like the matching the dots aiming, on SH3/4 you just locked and fired , at least there is some skill involved in the auto mode now.
My single core doesnt like the explosions etc, they run slower than the rest of the game but even this hasnt stopped me playing it constantly since i got it.
The rpg elements are new, i like the morale system and the promotion points it is just new and a bit flakey at the moment.
Graphics are simply a huge step up from SH4, the engine is unrecognisable to me, the lighting and water are stunning, the terrain is a large step forward as well.
Overall this game has amazing potential and to me at least it has provided me with the most fun out of the box of any of the series so far.
DRM , well this is a tricky one. As someone who creates i totally understand Ubisoft trying to protect their IP.
Are there better ways to do it, maybe but at this point in time SH5 has not been fully hacked and probably never will be due to the server side content updates.
Im afraid the writing is on the wall and Ubisofts method will be adopted by other companies if it prevents full working game copies being made.
In the near future the largest part of your games will be in the cloud and you will need an internet connection to play them.
Back to the game, no really im off to sink some ships......

i tend to agree with you, at first i really wasnt happy, but a few hours of gameplay soon changed my mind. i mean, yes it has its problems but what game doesnt when it first comes out??
the only thing thats driving me mad atm is my mouse sometimes goes dead sensitive and the slightest movement has me facing in the complete opposite direction
