SH5 Hangs at "Please wait until saved Games are synchronized from server"

SH5 was running just fine, i go to run it again today for the first time in a few days... game gets to the loading screen then a dialog box pops up saying

"Please wait until saved Games are synchronized from server"

the music loops for a few seconds and the game just hangs... computer is still functional need to Cnt Alt Del out.

argh!

anyone else have this or have a solution?

i tried erasing my data folder under my docs and it did not help

Got it to work, thanks to Skwasier...

i set all permissions to allow under the SH5 Exe and i did the following...
During the launch dialog i clicked the gear in the top right and told it to not sync games online...
then did the below...

For those that hang at the menu during synchronization, turn of synchronization in the login screen first, then quit the launcher/game. Then goto

64-bit:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher
32-bit:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher

and verify in settings.ini if this is set:

SaveOnline=false

Last, delete the storage folder (this is another cache folder). This folder apparently contains faulty data. gg!

I ended up with my last working local-save fortunately...

Please someone post it here, because many users have this problem but apparently changing my password at uplay.com didn't carry over to the forums, and now I can't login with the same account anymore, the forum server is whining I'm already logged on as 'skwasjer', well duh, and should logon using a different account (wtf... bug galore :rotfl2:)

Try Alt+F4 in Game, that always works for me.
