Odd flames

Hi all...does anyone know what might be causing the flames i see when a ship blows up to have sort of yellow squares around them?

can post a screenie later if nobody knows what i mean.

Sounds like a video card / driver issue.

Yep video card. SH4 had a similar issue. What card do you have?

Do you use mods? People have reported the square flames in Ailantd's mod.

Was suffering the same with SHIII using some SH4 effect mod, turned out the alpha channel's black wasn't completely black on the graphic files which made the square appear.

Erm, you get a weird yellow / purple lense flare effect on bright lights - is that what you mean?

no...its sort of surrounds the flame...and moves with flame like a big box...but you can see through it and see the flames inside.

its the Ail's Smoke mod. Disable it for now, hes coming up with a fix.

I got same effects from using Ails smoke mod so i had to disable it.
