Ok, some may have read about some troubles I encountered already.
The problem is, upon launching the game, login works ok it seems, the game fires up, I click away entry movie and wait for the loading screenbar to fill.
Once that is done the I get the "sync saves blabla" screen, and everything freezes. I did wait up to ten minutes without a change in that.
That happend after I already played the campaign well into 1940.
Now I already tried deleting the temporary gamelauncher files. That did not help.
Then I uninstalled the game, resinstalled, tried it, same result. As I left my mods and configuration files in the folder I figured that might be the problem, uninstalled again and deleted any remains, then installed again.
It still does not work and I am starting to run out of ideas. Anybody has a bit of inspiration available?

Its Ubisofts servers. seams they are under another DDos attack
Our servers are under attack again. Some gamers are experiencing trouble signing in. We're working on it and will keep you posted

I tried this even during reported uptimes, and initial login actually worked in the cases I could fire it up. So I am not sure it's really a server issue.
Also, I should add first thing I tried was deactivating save syncing in the launcher.

Perhaps try turning off the gamesaves uploading/sync thing (the cogwheel looking icon on the launcher), worth a try.

The game talks to the server the whole time, hence perminant internet connection required. Not just at login and sync saves.
The servers are under constant DDoS attack.
My guess is the inablily to talk to servers is why you cant play... i could be wrong ofcause. If I was you I would just wait til Ubi sort their servers out.

Hello,
it is just a very convenient idea of UBI to blame "attackers" or "pirates" for real problems or just too much unexpected traffic ? I do not buy the DDOS thingie. Reading between the lines there must be something else.
I also tried de-activating the save synching thing, but i have no idea what that really does on their servers
Maybe one could just launch SH5 not via launcher, but the game exe file ? - anyone ?
Thanks and greetings,
Catfish

You have a similiar case on your end? Having someone else having this problem could suggest a server side problem, but until then I will have to take it as something local.
gah.

its a DDos attack or a VIPDoS attack... either way, Ubi's servers cant cope.
The result is the same.
@ Gammelpreusse
Yes its Server side.... its not just you.

That would put the blame for 2 days straight inability to play on the server side.
But there still is a requirement for identical symptoms, so I assume you have seen what happend here as well?

That actually did it!
Thanks gerry, I even saw that thread when it appeared, but that was before I got the problem and later failed to make the connection :damn:
