Just had a mission to insert an agent so i decided to go through the dover street (between England and France).

I went surfaced, the planes just ignored me..
Than i intercepted a battlegroup with 9 destroyers and one carrier.
Okay i thought, intercept, dive and wait.

Salvo of four, carrier sunk. Go to 80m.. escaped? lol
the destroyers didnt even used asdig? WTF i thought, easy going. Went farther, the second battlegroup with a carrier arrived. Same play again. Intercept, another carrier sunk. It was Hermes and... the second name i forgot.

Again, the destroyers did not used the asdig and i escaped without problems.
This is really to easy :rotfl2:

yer ive been doing some ship sinking off the coast of the UK, lots of planes flying very very close to me, i was totally ignored. crept into tyne harbour LOTS of destroyers moving around just outside the entrance, sank the 2 merchants docked there and the DDs didnt even bother trying to look for me :s they just kept going about their pre-set routes

Indeed the planes are just.. maybe remote controlled :haha:

I was sneaking in a harbor, sinking a merchant, but the destroyers chased me with asdig.
I was surprised because no depth charges were used, instead i was on 20m and the destroyer rammed me. I was suffering heavy damage. Using the exterior cam i saw there were over 2 meters of free spave between the DD keel and my upper point of the bridge... :hmmm: But it rammed me anyway.

I've noticed planes calling DD:s to my position, but usually they're just an annoying interruption, making me press "max time acceleration" twice (because the sim stops first when you see one plane, then when you see his wingman...). I'm hoping this will change in the later parts of the game, early on I kind of expect them to do nothing and call in my position, the DD:s to be stupid and ill coordinated etc.

Yeah I snuck into Scapa Flow and sank HMS Nelson and HMS Hood and the destroyers just kept going round their normal search patterns. I would have expected them to go mad once the first torps hit but they didn't even come and look for me. Kind of disappointing really not much tension shooting fish in a barrel.

The AI scripting obviously needs major work to make it react to your actions more sensibly.

By the way do we know for sure if a sunk capital ship won't reappear later in the war?
For example I managed to sink the Nelson, the Royal Sovereign and the Kent (heavy cruiser). Will their sinkings have any consequences on the future of the british navy?

On the other hand, I could not complete the blockade over Germany mission (haven't found the carrier...), anyone has been far enough to see the consequences??

Interesting question, important for the dynamic nature of the campaign.

Say, if you managed to sink Ark Royal, Prince of Wales and Rodney (or just two of them) in 1940/41, would that make "saving the Bismarck" obsolete? Would Bismarck participate in the 1942/43 Atlantic campaigns if she survived?

Which I made, Mine is a little Harder. Forget about Harbor Attacks, because you need to be at least 60 meters deep and have silent running to be able to escape
