I've been running submerged for about three hours when I spot a QE Class battleship and six destroyers heading my way. I have to move at flank speed to get into position. I do not have much water under me. I slip through the screen, far too easily, and give the battleship all four forward tubes. The "eels" run deep, bugger! But I had Dud Torps ticked, so no complaints there. I turn towards the open sea and give it all the amps I've got. Two destroyers turn towards me and close fast. I rig for silent, but find I cannot maintain depth at less than 3 knots. Both destroyers make one d/c attack each, miss by miles. Then they both stopped engines and waited. My batteries are low and my CO2 is higher, far higher, than it should be, and Old One-Eye is upset that the crew have been peeing in his coffee again.
At this moment, real life kicked in and my wife reminded me that I had promised to take her out for lunch. So I log out, this new game seems to have no problem with logging out in an action situation. Two hours later, back from lunch, I try to log in again, and again and again and again and again, etc., etc, etc..
NINE hours later I finally get back into MY game only to discover that the Royal Navy have got tired of waiting and gone home, even though the game clock had not moved on, the destroyers had vanished. So too had the CO2.
So if they have you pinned down and they are running in for the final D/C attack, just log out and back in, if you can, and all will be well again. Except for Old One-Eye, can someone mod me a Luger please?
