Future messages will be enigma encrypted (new KTB page still every 12 hours game time). I will be using SH3 Enigma Flotilla's settings for this.

When posting those to the forums it seems like one also needs to add some gibberish to message on the forum-side to prevent the enigma-output from showing as all lowercase.

Got soooo sleepy 2 hours from contact point that had to save and go to bed. :nope: Hunt continues. :salute:
My biggest concern is that I'm burning fuel for a convoy that won't be there, I'm almost certain that it has turned to North by now. But IF it hasn't I should be 8km ahead of it when I reach the CP. :hmmm:
EDIT: Oh great... just wonderful. Why nobody told me that all map marks get erased when loading a saved game? Goddammit... Now I'm searching the convoy blind as a bat.

Yeh... action that went tits up. :damn: To my defence, I must add that the last undamaged tanker that I attacked with two torpedoes was the game messing with me. It said the speed was 15 knots, I shot and both torpedos missed by the bow. Bah! :shifty:
I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with the patrol, I was waiting for a longer one but as it happened, I literally ran into an convoy on my way to the patrol area (which I had chosen before starting the patrol to be the coast around Tyne). I mean, well, I still have 30+ hours before I reach Wilhemshaven (tho, might hit the 'Ludicrous speed' button as I have plenty of fuel to burn :hmmm:), but I was waiting for a week or two at sea.
Would I do it again? I'm kinda thinking to start a new one on Monday, either to the South Western Approaches or to the coast of Norway. Not sure about it yet, but we'll see. :hmmm:

Rgr that. I was thinking of starting one on the fleet boat side once I get Windows back up and running. Starting out of Manila at the outbreak of the hostilites should mean plenty of action and not that long a way to the patrol area.
Good luck! Make sure to dust your PC because you really want to have it running 24/7 to get anywhere in the patrol. :haha:

Yeah, that's on the list of things to do. I won't probably be able to do it in a true 1x-style though,ie. hours long sessions almost on par with the game time. I'll just keep TC at 1x whenever playing.
Another interesting target for a 1x patrol would be the Baltic. With the Russian-made mod you'll even get some targets there and proper missions, and the area is so small patrol times will be pretty short even in worst case.

But I don't understand how to decode your messages without the trigram.

He uses the kenngruppen as trigram, ie. instead of doing the whole trigram shuffle you 1) Set up the machine according to the "key" for that day 2) Rotate the rotors to the "kenngruppen" position Dowly lists 3) Start typing
