ATTN: Those of you who can't dock at port...

I've seen quite a few posts about not being able to dock etc. Good news is I found the root of the problem to the missing Dock Icon. Initially it was just a hunch, but i can reproduce it now.

To reproduce it, next time you start a patrol note the following:

1. Confirm that the dock icon is visible
2. Hide your UI
3. Talk to the watch officer, then exit his dialog.
4. You'll note that the UI has come back on by itself.. but the status icons at the top are missing.
5. Press the toggle UI button again and they will come back.

So when in doubt, toggle your UI.

Note to mods: I posted this in it's own threed and not in the bug/glitches thread to catch their attention. I felt it was important enough. That said, do what you feel necessary.

Let me make sure I have this straight. You are saying if you are returning to port after finishing a patrol, and you cannot get the "Dock" icon to appear, so you can end patrol?

This icon here. Is that correct? If that's what you mean, I will copy this into the Tips thread too.

If you do what i did in the first post, that entire status strip of icons will disappear.

when ive had problems docking (rarely although irritating--i just reload a save) its not the icon thats missing, its when i click it and go to the little window that says

Refit
End Patrol
Postpone

the refit and postpone options highlight and work when clicked. the end patrol option doesnt even highlight.. and also doesnt do anything. or it will kick me off the periscope if im on it and just leave me on the sub walking around...:doh:

Thanks, this happened to me too, twice. I drove around the whole port twice. I think I saved and reloaded and the dock icon appeared.

You need to go to Wilhelmshafen instead of Kiel.

i was at wilhelmshaven and it didnt work. so i went up the canal to kiel and still didnt work. went back down the canal to wilhelmshaven and didnt work again. XD somewhere else to dock? cause the home port icon was at wilhelmshaven.

I have the Anchor Icon allowing me to to get the same menu as Gabucino, and it allows me to Refit which resupplies my sub. But End Patrol is turned off and Postpone, when clicked, does nothing. I've tried Helioberg, Wilhelmshaven and even Kiel, but I cannot dock. And this is bad news for me, because my Hull has taken damage and some of my crew are injured. I need to fix things up or I won't survive the patrol...

I don't know what happened, but Wilhelmshaven had a Submarine icon next to it, so I went to it and I was finally able to dock and get repaired and healed. Also was given the Blockade of Germany mission to do. Don't know how it appeared, but it did somehow...

Might want to add a note that Command mods will probably change this if you add it to the FAQ. With the one I am using it is CTRL + NUMPAD .
