Hi all and long time no see.
Well I took a nice long break from the Silent Hunter Game series for a few reasons but mainly work.
Anyway, I noticed this game was coming out and rather than read the threads etc etc, I just happen to see it on the shelves in the shop this weekend so went ahead and got it as a impulse buy .
Knew I needed some better PC gear to run this thing so off I start on a long spiral of upgrading at cost.:nope:
Did not want to spend more than a few hundred as most parts already in my current PC so I decide to get all clever and did it in bits.
Anyway I start by upgrading my ram to 4 gig gaming ram, then upgrade the graphics card to a HD4830 and as that was still not great, so I caved in and ened up buying a bloody new PC to put it all in. Moral of this is "dont be a smart ass and just buy a gaming PC straight away otherwise it will cost you more in the long run" I AM A SLOW LEARNER OK :88)
Was it worth it?
1. Graphics are soooo cool now and hardly lagging at all even in ports so am happy with the investments (needed to do it sooner or later)
I have no doubt the patches are really needed for this game e.g. WOW style crew powers in a WW2 Sub:down: Come on, I am no rivet counter but lets keep a few things semi realistic e.g. crash times etc.
Whats this stupid anti piracy system now (so remind me of the starforce saga) ah well have to grim and bear it.
Did the devs move beyond anything other than putting the gloss on visual or am I being too harsh here because I have not really played too long to see if this stuff gets better over time in the war?
Finally, is this new anti piracy software and being connected to UBI rubbish going to affect the potential modding comunity e.g limit them too much?
Anyway, going back to crash dive to the bottom of the sea bed to check out how messed up the damage system is (shhhhh dont tell him it auto levels )
