Hello all,

New to the forum, started playing SH 3 a few years ago and now have SH 4.

Wanted to add some of the mods that are out there but could use some help on how to install the Jones mod helper to enable the mods I download. I am running Vista if that helps. Any help for a new sailor?

Hello and welcome aboard........There are posts by individuals scattered about the forums referencing JGSME for you to search.

Your question is asked frequently. The proper explanation is lengthy and I wish a moderator would make a non repliable "STICKY" referencing this procedure so it is easily obtained.

Since you're running Vista, there is one thing that you should be aware of, that comes up once in a while. Do not install the game in the C:\Program Files directory. Windows versions after XP limit access to the files in there, and you will run into problems if you are using a regular account, and not the administrator account.

Edit: I see that JScones points that out in his user guide. You should listen to him. Rumor is that he knows a bit about JSGME.

(Geez. I wish I could get personal support for all my software issues!)

Never install a game to program files,at least one your going to use mods!
1.Download JSGME,install it to your game directory
2.Open JSGME WITH ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS,VERY IMPORTANT:DL
3.Click ok when it ask you to make a folder named "MODS"
4.Now whenever you download a mod,extract it to that folder which you created name "MODS"
5.Once again open JSGME with admin rights and activate your mod.Thats it your done!
