View Full Version : Is it me or is Subsim having some serious server issues lately?

Over the last couple of days I have noticed some quite serious lag here at Subsim, with pages sometimes taking as long as 5 mins to load,or may not load at all! .I hate to gripe about this but it can be frustrating.I initially thought the site may be going under some sort of maintenance,is this true?
Thanks.

I checked the site yesterday and got a mesage about mantinace being done. It advised me that I should come back later. Prior to that I had noticed some longer loading times, never as long as you have reported though. After the mantinance I haven't noticed any real slow load times. Could be that the servers needed a good cleening out and now things are all shiney and like new.

Neal has cited the additional server traffic from the SH5 boards as the reason. He is working on adding an extra server tomorrow.

Indeed. He also said we have something like 20 times the normal traffic at the moment, thanks to SH5.. heh

Sorry, Paul, they're all having fun at your expense.
Actually it is just you.

Forget the trained monkies, gerbils, etc!
Here is the actual server speed crew hard at work....

The one in front looks too happy. He needs less rum and more flogging.
The two at the front look to be pulling their weight pretty well. The guy at the back on the other hand...
Clearly all of this is Sailor Steve's fault. The pictures prove it :O:

That pic is just a decoy. Sailor Steve's been executing DDoS attacks on the forum servers from the computer room of his local library since early yesterday. True fact!

Hi Mike
I remember being shoreside talking to one of the guides when this shot was taken. I wish I hadn't of been because there is obviously a plausable explanation as to why James is sporting a cheesy grin. :hmmm:
I wonder what Neal is up to behind him :D

That would be UnderseaLCPL. Actually it was the flogging that put that smile on his face.
You don't want to know any more.
