There is as far as i have read one thing that has not been answred properly.
for me it although this one is crucial;how do the DD's behave in SH5 concerning
the time and tactics they use to hunt down your sub?
are they lazy and just making a few circles before going back on course(SH4) or is
the AI changed to make them more concistant to hunt you down.
i remember in SH3 i could spend half the night to get out of a DD-trap after i sunk
a merchant vessel, later in SH4 i never expierienced the same thrill, not in the
original game or the u-boat add-on.

To be honest, ive only been pursued by DDs twice, and thats only after almost ramming them. Still its 1939...but they wont react to convoy attacks or at best only one ship will break from the convoy and head in a general direction of where the shot took place, then will circle maybe twice, and then go off in some random direction and forget about the convoy all together just to vanish into the sunset somewhere.

I sunk 4 ships in scapa flow and only 1 DD broke from its normal patrol to check out whats going on, apparently britian doesnt care that the HMS hood was capsized in the harbor and its patrol boats couldnt be bothered to check it out.

I believe it does get better. I was in the middle of 1940, and just sank 2 ships in a task group, spent the next 3 RL hours trying to avoid 5 destroyers, sadly they got me in the end, so now im back at 1939 again ;)
