There's a couple of diagrams on page 14 of the manual which are supposed to show what the TAI's coloured rings and the map's icons mean.
Unfortunately whichever idiot laid out the manual had the diagrams printed so small that they're almost impossible to read!
Does anyone know how to get hold of larger versions? Or can anyone tell me what the red half-circle around ships means?
Not producing diagrams on microfilm?
What next?

I'm assuming your talking about the coaster... er ... paper booklet.
Look for the pdf document then look for the little magnifying glass icon in adobe reader :03:

While we are on the subject of manuals don't forget latest updates to the manual are to be found here (http://silent-hunter.uk.ubi.com/silent-hunter-5/manual.php)

Already tried that - unfortunately the diagram is low res and magnifying it doesn't help.
It sucks that Ubi did not include the mapkey layout and map. The last two SH series had them. This PDF crap is unacceptable. PC gaming in general is dying a slow death.

Someone made printable versions of the F1 display search around here for keymaps :03:

Surely somebody knows what the coloured circles mean! :hmmm:
I figure the large grey circle with the black border is visual range, orange is hydrophones - but what's red? And are there any others?
