MAY turn out great. if modders continue to fix it...
Although there will always be hard coded parts that cant be fixed.
I'm intending to buy it, but just not yet...

I find it a bit silly when people tell you exactly what to do.

I guess it all comes down to your expectations, your budget, and how much you care about this series.

I'd say wait...unless you don't mind to beta-test the new patches and mods. This may be a decent sim one day - if/when heavily patched and modded - and both will take some time..

out of the box the game is highly questionable

Two reasons why not:

1) I have to upgrade..which I ws going to do willingly.

2) This "always online" intrusion. This put me over the top. Still playing Silent Hunter IV though.:)

In the end, how buggy is the game?

edit: W/O patches that is. I even got a new computer for the game hehe. It runs crysis at very high settings at about 90 FPS :)
