Try to crashdive into the seafloor and the boat will magically level by itself and follow the terrain! :haha:

It's failsafe. You cannot die.

That's why they removed the "depth under keel" command. You don't need it.

Outstanding imo. What difficulty are you playing at?

someone said you can run through objects on TC and not be destroyed just some damage.

another guy said he beached his sub on dry land and again just some damage but no death

Sigh...

Things like this just make me so, so tired.

When will they realize that it's not possible to make a subsim for the masses like this? The only thing they'll accomplish is pissing off their true fans.

trust me, the Wii virus is only gonna get worse till there is another video game crash. So much trashware has been coming out lately.

The game out of the box is a smash hit for the recreational family playing together..........However for the true die hard subsimmer the game will need to be polished some...........After all Ubisofts target market is not the majority of Subsim.com

Does SH5 really sell to the console/arcade crowd that like such titles as MW2, Saboteur, and Sims 2? I imagine that trying to compete with the true "bubblegum" titles as a submarine game is a losing battle.

"Doood, you have to check out this bitchin' naval game where you cripple Britain's material supply by way of destroying its merchant fleet. Last week I shot 10 targets and got all the way up to 8 knots!"

"Full real" followed by "except" is not full real, lulz.

Except the typical recreational family does NOT play subsims on the PC together, they play Wii sports or something similar.

I managed to destroy my sub with a ground strike.
I plotted a course to Kiel, switched to x4096 time compression, lagged due to increase in AI traffic, missed therefore the right time to switch back to a lower time compression, jumped off the coast line into the air (callout told me I was 300 meters high) and then bugged over the city sky for about 1 minute before being destroyed by the severe damage I took from scratching the rooftops of the buildings below.

At first I was like this:
But then I was this: :har:

Does that mean its possible to lie waiting on the seabed? somebody wrote that they got 1% damage from that.

But there must be a crushdepth right? That will be variable to the damage the sub has sustained.

I had a similar experience (NO TC in use)

My targets disappeared, I went to the bridge and noticed the sky was passing in hyperspeed....looked around water too. Next thing I knew I was zipping across central Europe. Started getting low battery warnings and the game crashed.

Like you I was at first like this:
Then when the low battery warnings kicked off this::har:

I donked into the bottom at about 160m last night, took 1% hull damage. Game seemed to be happy to let me although the sea floor might have been sloping upward.

I snuck into an east coast British port and nailed about 7 sitting duck ships. I thought "stupid game this is too easy." I hear some pings but I figure its the DDs stuck on the dock unable to do more than bark at me. As I was slinking away back to sea 7 DDs showed up and gave me a DC tickling for a few hours O.o
