I find myself often cruise trough the Skagerat than take the Nord-Ostsee-Channel because you stuck often in tc8....
The skagerat I can plow mostly with tc >1024....

Me too, I prefer the long way most of the time. But not because of TC because of the navigation. (Will be modded eventually)
But you know you can click the icon on the right (in the TimeAccel panel) which is friendly waters cruise or something. It will keep you in high TC..

That was a gamer thing that cropped up when a modder created the Canal for SH3. In real life it is faster and saves fuel to take the Canal. In a game the time compression problem rears its ugly head.
I always take the Canal anyway, just because it's what they did.:sunny:
As it has been said, you have the option to select TC in friendly waters where on the map screen upper right coner where you can select the maximum TC even inside the channel.

That's pretty cool for a second reason. In SH3 friendly waters were frustrating because of all the slowdowns every time the watch spotted a ship. In SH4 they 'fixed' it by disabling it for friendly ships. Of course then you only got booted to normal time when they spotted an enemy, so you never had to guess.
This seems to be a good compromise.:sunny:

For real?
Couldn't mod it or nothing?

I'm not sure. That's how it works for me, but I don't recall ever hearing anyone else complain about it. Either everybody likes it that way or I'm missing something (which wouldn't surprise me).
