:damn:

So i wondered why with new computer i have problems to play SH5.

I disabled the graphic nothink changed considering brand new card i was suprised.

I optimalized and overclocked computer with slight imrpovement. So gotcha i told myself its not the graphic. I started to disable services and stuff i dont realy need it worked for a while.....

So then i looked on one of my performance monitors and i was striked by lightning of revelation.

CPU was 20% RAM 99%

The more RAM i freed the more it was consumed....

I remembered same issue since SH3 and packs with naval traffic. I double checked SH5 and nearly fainted.

SH5 creates several convoys all over the place with 12-15 ships in one convoy. There were fighter bomber squads over some major cities. Every port has active traffic its GWX gone insane. In Kiel i counted around 30-50 active objects if not more around at some peeks. This objects are in full motion. Some are ramming structures blowing up and despawning and instantly new ones are created.

With current spawn and size ratio the game is not playable after several hours couse it takes most of the freed resourcers to spawn and despawn new objects all over the combat scenario map.

Basicaly SH5 tries to emulate SH3 mod packs in very poor way. SH3 mods took long to load but they were stable. SH5 instead of long loading time takes RAM and fully uses it for its purposes.

Im not a modder but please osmeone do somethink about it :dead:

I don't know, aside from slow TC near said convoys and ports, I haven't had much problems with performance. The frame rate is fine and everything runs well as long as I stay below 256x when I'm at port or near a convoy.

That said... some of it could use a cleanup. There are a few cool things in regard to objects and ships scattered about, but in many instances there's a bit too much and they add little to the game... and worse, in ports the moving ships' collision avoidance is definitely so-so.

I would welcome cutting it down a little but at least for me, it's not been a real performance problem.

Are you having performance problems ?
Memory consumption is not the issue, probably slow CPU (or not enough cores :) ).

If oyu would read above my cpu has 80% nothink to do....

the entire problem lies in insane ammount of traffic that is created and collission that take place in harbors in entire combat map. Anyway who needs fighter bomber squadrons over berlin in submarine simulator :P

Not mentioning crazy ammount of created ships. That ammount of ships was not even ever build. Its not like some ship is going trough sea and encounters 15 ships in convoy each second day.

I'm not running an especially up-to-date system and I haven't found any situation that's caused significant slowdown (ie, convoys, inside the sub, bad weather, raging fires on damaged ships). Loading times also don't seem much longer than SH3+GWX or SH4 with one of the supermods. I've got everything maxed out graphics wise except for AA. It's on at the first setting, so I could do more experimentation with that to see how it affects performance.

System Specs:

Windows Vista Home Baisc SP2
Pentium D 3.2 GHz
2 gigs RAM
GeForce 8800GT 512MB
DX11

As i said its not graphical issue i cna have effects disabled or enabled it has no impact. Just the AI goes skynet and does stupid stuff and that creates lag issues after some time.

Like previously mentioned collisions when entire convoy rams a beach. Or computer spawns several mega convoys in different parts i cant even reach.

You can see in campaigns the proper files and view them in mission editor i just dont know what files are proper to change and what values.

EDIT: Just an hour ago a convoy spawned infront of me and all 11 ships would miss me just one decided to set collision course (was a polish freighter). I missed him by 10 meters.

Dito, shadows off and everything is fine

I am sure I have read a while back that since the release of SH4 all objects are loaded dynamically with player proximity ie as needed for visuals. This was not the case in SH3 where everything was loaded at once,

Running windows xp by any chance? that can mess up thread allocation on multi core machines consuming memory needlessly. I am running Win 7 with 4 gig of memory and still have plenty free while the game is running, so the game isn't trying to allocate all free memory, something else is at fault causing your problems.
