Hilarious freaky incident...

So you know the beginning 'tutorial' sink ships and dock at Kiel?

I sank the ships and sailed back to Kiel. Usually an anchor icon pops up I click that and 'poof' I'm in the pen.

Well this time the anchor dident pop up so I decided to sail for the pen. Still no anchor. What the hell let me see if I can park this thing in a pen.

So just as the bow passes into the pen POOF I'm teleported to the dock where the captain has his dialog.... with no one... He's talking but the other guy isnt there :haha: Then I can hear the invisible man giving me a promotion.

So as I'm sitting there watching my capt talk with the invisible man I see the bow of my ship enter the scene. Doing a couple of knots... Oh god ! its gonna...I cant bear to watch.... BOOOM it slams into the end of the pen. No one even flinches.. well except me !

I finally gather my wits and press the ~ key to cut the engines (even though I'm standing on the dock). I was ahead slow when I got teleported to the dock and she stayed there :rotfl2:

Oh and the sub did recieve damage.

PS; After all that weirdness suddenly all the pepole that belonged on the dock appeard 'poof' :doh:

Awww! I had that same thing happen, but I reloaded a save before I saw my boat come crashing in. :cry:

I ran into an entirely unguarded 7 ship convoy. I was in heaven!

I got into place, worked out firing solutions for all three columns. As the inched into range I set off my salvos. It would be perfect, all three front ships hit simultaneously!

So while the torps went on their way, I backed away from the UZO (did I mention this was a picture perfect night surface attack and I was outside visual range?) and told my WO, "Get the men on the guns!"

Now, never before had the gun crews starting shooting on their own. Usually I need to mark a target first. I'd even read stories here of people not getting them to shoot.

So what happens during my perfect ambush?

They shoot.

The whole convoy goes nuts and scrambles. EVERY fish I fired missed!

Finally had to just weave in and out of the convoy gunning ships down. Got 7 of 9 and left #9 burning (but otherwise perfectly fine since there's apparently no flooding or speading damage).

Hey is it just me or does it seem like the boat moves around .. bobs tilts and rolls more while it is in the pen than when it is out in rough seas :doh:

Oh and is it possible to board the boat without talking to the man on the dock "I'm ready to go now" :D

I pointed that out after seeing early screenshots and a recent video. It's been one of my complaints since SH2 that the whole point of a harbor is to provide safe...well, harbor (or haven, as in Wilhelmshaven). It should be much calmer in the harbor, and even more so inside a concrete building.

I noticed that there doesn't seem to be a "glassy" state of seas - all patrols I started so far have begun at 0kt reported wind speed, but in all actuality things were quite choppy.

What I'd love to see everytime in port is this :)
