The functionality is there, but once again delivered unfinished, it lacks of the assignment to the keys. This can be done by editing the commands.cfg.

You can add keys to the file and make it functional. I suspect it was to be accessed thru the radio operators dialog, but like many things, they ran out of time.

Navigate to the sh5 /data/cfg folder and open commands.cfg with a text editor; navigate to the gramophone entries and replace them with the ones listed above.

It can be added to this dialog, but it's a bit more of work, some of the aix files must be edited for such a mod.

Ok thnks.
But there is something strange with the sound man.
Look at this movie this (http://ubitv.de.ubi.com/index.php?vid=951&listsort=1&theme_id=0&pid=0&games_id=0&side=2&looking4=ubisoft-tv) at 06:08.
And now look at your own game by him.
See the differents.:o
as an FYI, if you add a keystroke to:
[Cmd561]
Name=Toggle_Activate_UserRadio
Contexts=1
you can get the user-radio back!!! :rock:

How exactly would I do this? I have about 12gb of Radio mods I would love to have back. It looks a little different then the gramophone entries above.

I used this for both my radio and gramophone and they both work fine:
[Cmd561]
Name=Toggle_Activate_UserRadio
Contexts=1
Key0=0x54,,"T"
[Cmd562]
Name=Toggle_Activate_Gramophone
Contexts=1
Key0=0x47,,"G"
Just make sure that the keys I used are not in use somewhere else in you commands.cfg file.

The radio play files randomly from a folder (typically music) but also plays certain files (typically news broadcasts) at a predetermined date and time. People have made entire "Radio Stations" available for download that give you the feeling of listening to a radio station of the era throughout the whole war.
They are a must have IMHO. Check them out in the SH4 Mods forum, these are especially good: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=119668&highlight=radio

Yeah, that is what my many GBs are made of lol. I have British and German stations for early in the war. US ones that will play music and kick into news casts in '41. Not sure how the news stuff will go.
Thanks for the heads up. BTW, the new UI mod has also added the radio back at the click of a button :up:

I tested it with one scripted event from the BBC radio and it worked, seems that nothing has changed on that front. I wonder if Radio Station Manager will work?
And yes I'm really excited about that new UI mod but I didn't have time to check it out yet, that's next on my list. Glad to hear the radio button works!

I used to sit in real time for hours listening to the radio broadcast mods in shiv, was fascinating to hear how the same events were relayed at the time in different countries.:rock:

I tried it out and it seems to work. It can use the save games in SH5. I haven't reached a "news" event date yet so don't know if this apsect works.

yes by all rights it should :hmmm:
I'm not much help with stock stuff. I use my UIs mod where everything is simple and just a click away. Getting the gramophone and user radio to show is very simple in my UIs mod.
Maybe the T is being used by another command in the commands.cfg file :06:
