Kaleuns,
for the ATI card users only:
now that you have "immersed" yourselves in SH5 (pun not intended),

What fps are you achieving?
What in-game settings are you using?
What sze monitor are you using and what settings?
What ATI driver version are you using?
What card are you using?
What issues are you having, if any? Workaround tips?

And soforth...
P.S. I am a ATI HD 4870 1GB man, so just curious to see how others are coping...
P.S.S. As of yet i don't have the game, sitting back and waiting...:salute:

Using fps counter from FRAPS

• 60 fps inside u-boat, for when running through it (AA set to 5/6) (vertical synch enabled)
• 60 fps inside u-boat, for when running through it (AA set to 4/6) (vertical synch enabled)

• 50 fps outside u-boat on calm ocean (AA set to 5/6) (vertical synch enabled)
• 60 fps outside u-boat on calm ocean (AA set to 4/6) (vertical synch enabled)

• All effects enabled
• 24" Eizo S2431W + 17" Eizo, windowed mode 1920x1080 (I like seeing the taskbar in windows)
• Catalyst 9.11 drivers (using "drivercleaner" with each driver upgrade)
• Sapphire Ati Radeon 5850 (1GB)
• No issues so far (been playing two times for a few hours)

Rig: Q6600 @ 3,4 GHz, 8GB ddr2 ram, Vista 64 Sp2, Antivirus etc running

1. never below 60 since i have vsynch on
2. full max settings full AA
3. 52 inch samsung 7 series
4. 10.3 preview set.
5. ok here we go, i have the 5870 crossfire setup clean install of win7 64 bit and was having some bad flickering and my fps was locked at 30 fps instead of 60 with vsynch on.
Did a bunch of troubleshooting then i came to a cold realization that Ati's crossfire support sucks, so disabled crossfire, bam fps is locked at 60 as i have vsynch on which is what i want so im able to game now by disabling crossfire which is :damn:.
Still have some flickering issues for example the deck watch's binos flicker in and out. Another problem is the mouse is real iradic as its smooth moving then all the sudden will go real fast.

Oh just remembered one other problem i was experiencing with crossfire on, when you point your pointer at a crewmember or object to interact with ie the glowing bubbly stuff, the fps would spike iradically from 30 something to 117 now this is with crossfire on, without no problems.

Joneys, hmm so tempted to put my 295gtx back in:damn:

I have a E8500, ATI 4890 (cat 9.12), 27" Dell WD monitor,creative X-fi fatal1ty soundcard, 2 gigs DDR2, Win XP pro sp3.

running at 1920x1200, max graphics, shadows on, no AA.

Inside the boat the fps always hovers between 60-80 and never goes below 60.

Out on deck in the ocean, fps again between 60-80 even when looking at shadow of boat. Boat shadow is rendered correctly.

The lowest FPS I have seen is 35-40 when on deck leaving harbour in the Narvik single mission. That scene is heavy with scenery and friendly AI ships.

I have never seen any slowdowns with explosions, etc.

suprising... mine works.
Then again, ATI drivers were always messed up at one point or another with crossfire!! My hd3870X2 (X2 are the worst in term of crossfire driver implementation) has never quite lived up to what it was initially expected to. It's more money spent than anything else, performance wise, except on those super-dupper-magical benchmark you see on reviews where they're using early drivers and still gets average FPS about 60% more than you usually do even months and countless drivers versions after (go figure)
