i can't lower my periscope! [Archive] - SUBSIM Radio Room Forums

in the beginning mission they have you go to meet the captain on the bridge, then have you go back down and use the obs periscope to attack a nearby ship. the only problem is now i can't lower it past 10ft. i've been driving my u-boat around with the periscope up and it looks ridiculous. not to mention i can't stealth my way around quite so good. is this a bug or ..?

If you are talking about the OBservation Scope, you can't lower it all the way while you're looking through it because it has to go beneath the floor. Escape out of the view and use the hotkeys to lower it.

The attack scope can be lowered while you are still sitting there though.

thank you that is good to know. i've got one more question. it's about these forums. how do i make it so the posts start from top down? right now the latest posts are at the top and i hate it :O:

Look for User CP in the gray bar on the top left.

Go to Edit Options

Then scroll down to Thread Display Options. There's a dropdown box. Change that to read "Linear - Oldest first"

SHIFT PGDN to lower it all way while not looking through it.

Does anyone actually use the attack periscope lol.

They say that if your periscope remains up for more than 4 hours that you should see a doctor. :88)

You know, I'd say that was just a stupid joke based on innuendo alone, but that's exactly what I was going to say. Keep it up! Or try not to... whatever you think is right.
