Both myself and a friend who bought the gold edition from Impulse have an immediate crash (cause being some FileNotFound Exception) after patching. We're also both running Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. I've reported it to Ubi through the normal channel - it seemed like someone had a more direct line to the devs and it'd be nice to get this fixed sooner than I imagine their behemoth customer care system can handle.

Hmmm.. I have the Gold Edition and Win 7 64 bit. Patched to 1.0.1. No problem for me.

Did you manually install the patch or did Impulse install it? Some games on Impulse require special patches so using the manual one would indeed screw up your game.

We let the auto-patcher do it.. Hmm... Well fortunately Impulse has an archive feature so I don't have to re-download each time I try. Maybe I'll give it another shot.

Win7 64 bit patched to 1.01 no issues to report and sorry to hear that something went wonky for you and your friend.
Let's hope it get's sorted ASAP!
Same, no issue right now - been playing a few hours.

I had the same exact issue running SH5 from the Impulse app after patching [inside Impulse]. (Win7 x64)
Short workaround - run the sh5.exe executable directly from windows.

Because I was hoping to get people's attention so they didn't make the same mistake I did and lose an hour (or more) of download and installation time.
I'll try the workaround. Sounds good.

I can confirm that the workaround works. Thanks. *whew*

haven't been able to successfully launch it yet. It does the hardware test, then launches an updater, that loads and then it crashes.
