Hi,

I bought the Gold Edition at D2D, I found the 32 pages manual, but where is the Official Guide ( 111 pages ) ?

Anyone?

Thx

Good question. I'd like to know this too. There's a thread for this on the Ubi forum. Hopefully someone gives us an answer.

Look in the start menu icons. You will find a link there for "Game Bible" that's the book your looking for.

By default, with an English installation you will find it at the following path:

C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\LngGameData\Collectors\Bible\English

I pre-ordered from D2D,what I want to know is where is my art?

Ah thanks. I didn't have the start menu link, but I search my install for PDF and found it.

I have no start menu or desktop icon but found the bible which is a book which shows all the ships and their stats. The same thing as looking in the musuem in the game. This book was made out to be a lot more than it is and it is not worth paying more money and btw where is the extra artwork that was to come with the gold version?

Yeah, the gold version was totally not worth it. Maybe if they'd added in MP3s of the soundtrack.

How can we check to see if we got the 7 ship/sub skins we were promised?

It's under C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\LngGameData\Collectors\

Nothing worth $10.

Not worth 1$...in my opinion.

I have standard box version patched.

In the path C\ProgramFiles\Ubisoft\SH5Launcher ...

I open that and have data and storage folders.

I open data and have this...

I have 5 numered files with game icon pics of varies games and a default file with folders like... buttons, countries, ect ect. (btw I opened all files)

No normal path to textures or anything.

In Document SH5 the Mission Editor folder is empty.

WTH gives with this game ?

Anybody know whats wrong ?

Agreed,
I feel foolish for shelling out 10 extra dollars for that :wah:

As was mentioned in the patch notes, there are problems when you install to Program Files. Uninstall and install to a different drive or at least a different folder (just let it do it's default thing) and you should have more luck.

That is a fantasic reason not to buy the software right there.

Since program files has been the standard install location for 15 years I have to wonder just how competent the dev team is. These days, this is windows programming 101.

Frankly, if a dev team dropped that on my lap as production level code (and yes, I do manage a sizable dev team of 20) they are getting the dope slap from hell.

Unbelievable. Utterly unbelievable.

Vista and Wins 7 have security issues where they will not allow programs to make modifications to files in Program Files. This has caused many problems in our legacy software, and I have had to come up with workarounds like this.
