View Full Version : Has SHV surfaced in UK yet?
Just wondering if anyone has got the game yet here in the UK?.
Seems to be quite a few european countries are selling it not to mention Canada and the States, appologies if I've left anyone out....
Anyone got the collectors edition yet or is this a UK only thing? I've ordered it from Amazon and they are giving a delivery date of the 5th, anyone got similar?
I'm in Sweden but ordered through Amazon UK, it says the estimated dispatch date is the 4th, so it'll take a few days to ship (est. March 9-15). I thought that if you preordered they'd send it quicker, but that doesn't seem to be the case. If I'd get it earlier I'd be reet chuffed though.

Have pre order the limited edition via the Subsim Amazon shop and the release date is the 5th.
So once it has been shipped to me in Cyprus i should get it by the end of next week if im lucky.

Ordered mine from Shopto.net today (use them all the time) at about 2pm and its been dispatched already. Hopefully is the post does its job I'll have my hands on it tomorrow. Have tomorrow off too, so its looking good lol :D

Went to game on Fri, Was told by manager, we willl not stock that, as we dont see it selling. Think the only way to get it in UK, will be through internet. Sadly cant see Amazon or Play sending it out before Friday 5th. Did look on Gameplay and Game websites, but They dont seem to have it on there.
shopto says they have it instock and will dispatch the same day if ordered before 5.30pm, so i have just placed my order with them.

shopto are very quick at dispatching! just got a text message saying that my order has been dispatched and i only placed my order 10 mins ago!

Got a text message telling me it had been despatched only 5 minutes after ordering!!!
Found this thread, managed to create an account and place my order just in the nick of time.
My account history says I placed my order at 5.28pm, just before the cutoff.
Item has been dispatched.

Yea..I got mine at Best Buy too last night. It seems somehow all the Best Buy's ended up putting the game on their shelves way early. Not sure how that happened, but I'm not complaining. :)

I personaly can not fault shopto's service, have been using them for about 3 years. I know even the most glorious and prestigous shops will have someone that was displeased by there service but thats just the way it goes.
One of there policy's I really like is if the game is not delivered to your door by the official release date then they will just send it again, rather than wait the usual 14 days the royal mail make you wait for a claim.
Glad I could steer A few of you away from a potential storm and into hopeful clear seas. Fair sailing men. SINK THEM ALL!!! :arrgh!:
Just as another voice on this - I've been using ShopTo for about 18 months and they've been good.
For pre-ordering stuff they tend to be one of the cheapest and guarantee delivery by release day which usually means they send it First Class on Mon/Tue of release week so you get it a day or two early from them.
Just yesterday they dropped my SH5 pre-order price from £26 to £23 too.
As online retailers go, for the moment these are one of the good ones!

I second this. Never used these guys before, BUT if they come through, and keep the promise of it turning up tomorrow, Well I can promise I'll be switching all my future Pre orders to them. Cant believe ive never heard of them before, BUT 2 recommendations from fellow subsimmers is good enough for me.
and shopto seem to be considerably cheaper than the likes of Amazon, Game and HMV on most titles so i definitely will start using them! (despite never hearing of them before today).

Hmm, yes, that's a little bit worrying.
The blurb says they now guarantee delivery ON the release date, Friday.
But my account still says item dispatched.
Guess we'll find out tomorrow.
EDIT: Just got an email telling me the item has been dispatched. Guess I got my order in just before they realised they aren't allowed to ship the game yet.
It is looking hopeful I'll get it tomorrow.

I honestly think Game in the UK (along with Gamestation which they own) are out to kill off PC gaming entirely at High St retail. The displays of PC games in the town where I live (Ayr, Scotland) and also in the city of Glasgow branches have got smaller and smaller and are now only relegated to 1-2 floor units where previously they had wall space + floor units.
I asked recently about this and was told that the company was no longer buying any but the highest profile titles on the PC. In some ways I can understand why, piracy is rife, PC games are a support nightmare, people buy games without reading the machine specs and want to return them etc. In many ways the PC's gretest strength that of modularity may ulitimately be its downfall as a gaming platform.
I've ordered my copy from Amazon (as I wanted the limited edition version) and hope it will arrive for release, they are usually pretty good.

Ordered today from CDwow. Price is unreal at only €25.50. This may be a mistake on there part as its listed elsewher on the same site for €62.50
Delivery is slow though at 6 to 8 days :down:. But in no hurry to get it, patch might be released to fix a few of the bugs by then.

As they say on their website - they are a company created by gamers for gamers. So I wouldn't be surprised if they hang out on all the popular forums.
But yes, very impressed with their service. I ordered at about 5.25pm an it was here at 10am. All my future pre-orders will be going to them.

Left a msg on my sons mobile to cancel the SH5 he ordered and reorder from Shopto for next day delivery ... He called saying he cancel and as asking what was the other site again ...
I went to it online and just my luck , the In Stock sign was gone and Released In 3 Days! was in its place
.. Don't know if they are out of stock or have been pulled up for selling before release date.

hehe wish I was on commission for the sales to SH5. Just thought I would give a heads up to fellow sub simmers about my experience with shopto. Just got back from shopping and my SH5 is here waiting to be installed :D
I really am like a kid at Christmas lol, was the same for SH2, SH3, SH4, SH4 U boat missions lol.
One thing I'm going to miss so much with SH5 is not being able to use SH commander. For me personally that was the pen ultimate addon next to GWX. I refuse to play SH3 without commander installed lol. Just hope and prey that SH5 really gets going and someone decides to make A similar mod. Or even better the original author carrying on his work.

Just checked my order and it still says "not yet dispatched, delivery estimate 5th march" I too paid extra for shipping, expedited I think they call it. I did order it on the 16th Feb. When did you place your order? maybe they have a lot of pre orders and put folks in a que and that's why they are giving you the 8th??

I´m been searching for good onlineshops to buy from. Looks like they send to Sweden so next game I will try them out. CD WOW is cheap but I have waited from up to 21 days for my orders. Also I tried Game.co.uk and been waiting for 12 days and counting.

Amazon UK's delivery estimates are usually on the pessimistic side it may still turn up on release day. I also ordered the linited edition version with first class post so fingers crossed.
I've got a pre-order in at Amazon.co.uk for the collector's edition too (with free delivery though, so expected on Tue 9th March, but hope to get it on Saturday or Monday since I booked a holiday :DL), but that ShopTo.net price and delivery promise is highly tempting. I'll be bookmarking that site for future, so another word of thanks from me for the heads up!
I'd never heard of the site either. The website name doesn't exactly shout "computer games", so would be easy to miss if it came up on a Google search.
The collector's edition better be worth it ... I'm not convinced!

My son ordered it for me from Shoptonet Teusday about 2pm , he called me to say he'd done it. I checked the website and the IN STOCK icon had gone from the SH5 game. I clicked on it and it said Releases in 3 days, yesterday afternoon the IN STOCK was back on SH5 and my son called to say he had an Order Tracking No sent to him, so I thought it would be delivered today..
Its 1pm now and I am still waiting !

Its 1pm now and I am still waiting !The waiting is horrible, so many doubts creep in. Don't worry, it'll be there very soon. I hope you have a powerful system, the game is not well optimized/streamlined and as a result takes a lot of horsepower to run smoothly. I have a core2duo processor and Nvidia 8500GT card and I'm only getting 18 FPS at best! I think the Devs could improve this.

My CE has disappeared from my amazon orders.
It has not been sent.
Strange.
Apologies, CE dispatched. Hopefully the wife will be taking the son out to a birthday party on Saturday and I will be able to see what all the fuss is about.

Well, looks like I'm almost the only one whose copy hasn't despatched yet! It does say they've started 'preparing' my CE version so I can no longer cancel, but looks like it won't be leaving their premises until sometime Friday, so not likely to surface (no pun intended!) until Tue, or Monday if I'm lucky - yeah, Super Saver delivery... £31 was enough to spend already!
As I have Monday off work I can see myself installing SH3 + mods again to pass the time! Since a recent Win 7 upgrade I haven't reinstalled it, but I'm getting rather impatient to sink some things! :arrgh!:
