Friendly Warships In Contact Report?

Had just set out on a new patrol when Bdu sent a contact report, regarding a friendly merchant raider. The marker is quite a ways north and moving west at 12 knots. I have no idea what to do.

I wonder if it's an opportunity to participate in a joint operation sort of thing?

I need a little help with this one. I could attempt to catch up with them, but my assigned patrol is far to the southwest. :06:

I figured they wouldn't want me to sink one of our own. I'm just wondering if I should try to tag along with them.
