I have a question about ordering SHV.
First of all I AM buying SHV.
Second If I preorder it through Ubisoft when will it be delivered.
last (More of a tech question) If I download SHV could I burn it to a DVD so I have a physical copy?

BLOOD TRAITOR! DRM! *FROTH FROTH*
Ahem.
I think the 'pre-order' link on the official Ubi site goes to Amazon anyway, or at least it does for me, but that may be down to regional things.
If you order it through amazon, I have heard tell that it will be delivered the say of release, but the checkout should tell you. If it's not amazon, then all I can say is that my pre-order of SH3 through Ubi France arrived in the UK the day of the release.
Burning a downloaded copy to disc? I'm not sure, never downloaded any games, for precisely the reason you want to burn your copy to disc.

If you buy it through subsim, which goes to amazon then subsim get a cut (6.5%).

Yes, I meant to say that, but apparently didn't. I was going to say it before 'goes to amazon anyway'. Oh well! Thanks jwilliams!

$60x10%=$6.00
$60x 6.5%=$3.90
$6.00-$3.90=$2.10
So it would cost you $2.10 to donate $3.90 to Subsim.
GO FOR IT!:woot:

Not sure how a d/l from Ubisoft works, never ever d/l games off a Dev's website, always purchased hard copies.....
I'll get to the point, once d/l'd does the install process start? I'm thinking, like in most cases, a install exe is d/l'd to client's choice of location, click on exe and install begins......anyone correct me if i am wrong.
You cannot really create a image from a installed game, because you would need to backup all the other entries the game makes during install, ie reg keys, my documents folders etc etc, so it's useless to backup just the main directory of the game folder.....

I bought SH3 via download from the Ubisoft site.
The d/led files are saved to an external drive, and I've reinstalled the game several times on my PC from there. Also burned the downloaded files to a DVD and that setup.exe file works just fine as well.
Of course things may be completely different with SH5, but I always make backup copies of program setup files when I buy something via download and I've never had a problem reinstalling from the backups if necessary.

That was how it worked with SH3. All the files needed for download were d/led to the folder I chose.
I can't remember if the setup.exe ran automatically once the d/l was complete, or if I had to go in and click on it to start the install.
Either way, all the d/led files are still there in their original location (on an external drive) and I've used them to reinstall the game several times, first on the computer I had at the time and again on the rig I'm on now.

I suppose if SH5 is less than 8GB as a download, I could download from ubisoft and go pick up one of those 8GB flash drives for $25?
Where are you at? I only paid $20 for mine.

I tend to buy the more expensive brands when it comes to computer related stuff.
Mine's been working fine for months now. Is PNY good enough?:sunny:

And my 8GB PNY cost $20 at Staples. That was my only point.
