Roadtesting TMO for 1.4 + RSRD

I've been playing SH3 & 4 for years.
Stopped for a bit and reloaded SH4 recently
Was using RFB+RSRD for a bit but reverted to TMO, always seemed to prefer that.

I started in Manila 6th Dec '42

First outing was scout round thru San Bernadino Strait and bob about East Luzon a bit.....boring...no action at all save a couple plane alerts.

Then orders to move to Luzon Strait for a gander and await orders.
Headed that a way and punctuating my mind numbingly boring journey by diving to periscope depth every few hours and have a listen any hot IJN action, that and dodging air patrols.

Get to Luzon Strait and dive and listen.........'merchant at bearing x.
Now because this is a game I have external view active and previous/next camera, so call me a cheat and be done with it!!!!

When I do an external camera I see a Chitose type seaplane tender.
Make heading in the direction only to stumble across a half dozen freighters, single escort destroyer.
Now, I've just loaded TMO and have been at pains to try and retrieve the dash lines that(cheat alert) direction of contact....and still haven't got it yet.
I get a visual with my scope and flnk on as much of a 90º position of there course as possible.
When I'm about 2500 yards out I let three off.....now, for a start I've guessed the speed of 10 knots simply because I didn't have time, also didn't think I'd hit and bingo 2 of 3 torpedoes straight into a 10000 ton modern tanker!
But wait there's more. Hot on its heels is another similer tanker that didn't deviate from course. Still got one in the pipe and let that go........smack kablooooy just before the main superstructure towards the stern. Both pretty well were blown apart fairly rapidly.
Luck I think had far to much of a hand in the fate of these vessels but so what........all's fair in computer gaming.........apart from that I'll never do that again in a million!

Destroyer must have been on saki break or something as the commotion didn't even mess his hair.

Now I'm away to chase that Chitose.

Sorry for that rant but I'm well chuffed.........20025 tonnes for 4 torpedoes.
When they exploded the first was going down with the first impact. And the second tanker only had one impact and dropped like a smooth pebble........so, with hindsite (or game save, which I've got, he!) same job with 2 fish!!!!!!!!

Thank you for indulging my 'scream' of consciousness!

Good patrol so far for you. I have had those moments before. Only for me the next enemy meeting usually involves a plane that drops a DC right down my hatch. Game over man......game over.....
