Since future of the series and SH5 itself depends on sales, I guess we should keep our fingers crossed. And sales depend on good advertising. I saw that today:
http://gry.onet.pl/5051,1599081,,Silent_Hunter_5_Battle_of_the_Atlant ic_first_look,zapowiedz.html
and it's not the first one at onet.pl (which is not a gaming site of course); comes with a lot of superlatives, like how "great and fantastic" the game is; seems someone's been paid I suppose :O: Nevertheless I'm happy to see that, because it can win a few more "casual gamers".

And the question is: have You noticed any efforts on the Ubi side in your country? Any adverts, articles like the one above? I mean, do potential players even know about SHV and its "cool features"?

Gasp , for a minute when I saw the thread title I thought you meant "in-game advertising"

now That would be an immersion killer. A Becks beer crate or something.

To answer the question, I've only seen advertising on game retail sites and it's low key

I did see an advert of note here in the UK recently, though not for silent hunter 5. It was a huge (2 minute long?) advert for the new Aliens VS Predator game. Must have cost a lot. It was on during the break in a showing of the movie Predator.

Look at attack periscope in SH3. It says: "Siemens" right on there.

They've diversified a tad bit since...

Word of mouth is the best advertising. I can't help but wonder if things don't get better will this game will reach crush depth within a month of release...if not sooner?

Anyway, I've got my popcorn. This show is gonna be good. :O:

Only a matter of time. I am sure they are thinking of it. Either that or commercial breaks you can't escape through. :nope:

Not a matter of if, but when. :yep:

This convoy attack is brought to you by Coca-Cola?

more like before you can attack there will be a cut scene with the Coke commercial. Not to mention commercials that play before being able to play the game....Commercials that would have to be... I don't know... stored on a server or something and have the game coded so that..hmm.. just a guess mind you.. that the customer has to have an active internet connection so the commercials can be updated and the customer has to sit through 5 or 10 commercials before being allowed to have access to the game or a saved game.

Like I said before, not a question of if, but when. :yep:
