This this is one heck of a piece of technology.

Indeed, considering it's powered by just 4 laptop batteries and 6 motors, it can do a lot of things.

Imagine proliferation of this technology 5, 10 years down the road - MKs can be used for literally hundreds of military and civil applications.

The performance of this hexcopter is amazing, just look at that climb rate. The GPS guidance capability reminds me of a robotic carrier pidgeon...

Really impressive...the list of possibilities must be huge. I wonder how long she can go endurance wise on the batteries supplied.

Nifty toy! I wonder how much it can lift. Also, what might the market be for a larger version.

Only a little off-topic, it reminds me of this toy I saw a long time ago:

Pretty spiffy, its ability to hover and hold itself in position in all dimenshions and maintain a station are incredable.

I was also impressed with the lift capacity. Ive fooled around with those cheap micro copters they sell and they couldent lift a nickle :O:

The one thing that really impressed me is when it was lifing the coke bottle and the bottle was swaying back and forth. If found a sort of rythim to stay in balance very impressive.

The noise though... like a swarm of angry hornets :stare:

If they could deal with the noise and duration issues it might be one heluva spy tool ... or a cheap way to deliver a 'package'.

I can see some possibilities there for assisting with search and rescue.

Wow! Imagine the shots a digital filmaker on a budget could get with such a stable minicopter.

Didn't one of the UK police forces get in trouble using one of these recently?
Something to do with using it for surveilance but forgetting about flying regulations.

Or assassinations :o

That's a scary thought. Programmable robot assassins. What would Grant Imahara do? :hmmm:

We have UCAVs possibly in advanced development, and operational armed UAVs that have proven very effective.

Ninja-copters might be closer than you think...

I've heard tell of those things. Anymore these days the old Mechwarrior player in me has to wonder when myomer bundles will be invented. :D
