Sounds interesting. But i found that Civ 4 was the true successor to Civ 2 which was my favourite of the Civilization series. :yeah:

So it will be interesting to see how Civ 5 turns out. :)

It's taken them a decade or two but they've discovered hexes!! :yeah: This should open up a wealth of new movement options, and the graphics look gorgeous, and, AND, they're creating proper armies, not just single unit representations.

This should be good.

Now if you'll excuse me...I have some more Civ IV to play

Oh god please let us have an adult's game this time, not a childish and cartoonish one (fingers crossed).:shifty:

Ahh, Civilization.

The old days of playing Civilization 2 and Civilization 3 on my Windows 98. Those were the days.

I've been a big fan of Civilization since Civilization 2, and will be keeping an eye out for this one.

Naval battles are fairly good for the most part with the expansion packs, but a little tedious at times.

Civ 4? I wonder if Firaxis is able to come up with any original IP these days. I think Gettysburg was the last true new stuff from their part. Since then it has all been regurtitating same old stuff.

Not that Sid needs to prove anything, the man has done more great stuff than most people. But it is like, camman, isn't that brilliant mind of yours able to come up with great :new: stuff any more

They seem to be overhauling the game fairly extensively. :hmmm:

How hexes are better than squares, or: Preview! : Civilization V Preview: Small Changes, Big Differences (http://kotaku.com/5489814/civilization-v-preview-small-changes-big-differences)

Alright, I admit it, that had very little to do with hexes or squares. :D

* plus little follow-up on roads: Civilization V To Eradicate Road Spaghetti? (http://kotaku.com/5489834/civilization-v-to-eradicate-road-spaghetti)

It looks very promising, no more squares, finally.
The abolishment of tech trade will also improve the game.
I am curious how the border system will work - it was pretty good with the cultural borders in Civ 4, but they promise that it would be more realistic - that they spread out towards usefull tiles like resources.
No more religion? Booooh! It was always a nice reason for a war - just like in real life...

This, its fun but Galactic Civilizations II is better.

This, its fun but Galactic Civilizations II is better.

Its almost the same game, one is set on a planet the other one is set on space.
