It's a great mod. I love it. However, I'm really new to the subsim world so I have question and if they are dumb and easily solved I apologize ahead of time. Anyways....

Question, while at sea how do I change the personnel I have assigned to the AA guns? Because of the Hogans ally/crew berthing area added to the crew management screen the slots where the AA gun crews are fall behind the menu bar's gauges (throttle, rudder, and depth in the lower right hand). The squares for AA assignments can't be accessed. I can access them in port cause the gauges aren't there then but when I start the mission I can't click them cause they are covered up.

What if someone dies? I need to be able to replace that crew member or reassign them to damage control if needed.

I can click the roster on the left to remove them but after I do that cause the gauges are in the way I can not put that person back at the AA gun and the guns will remain unmanned for the remainder of the mission.

Ahoy mate!!!

Good thing that you got yourself the TMO. It's an amazing mod.

Regarding your question, there's no dumb question, the dumbest thing is not to ask.
You'll have to use the ',' key on the numpad. It hides the interface (i.e. bars, menus and the gauges) so you can assign people on and off it.

You know you can turn the stations on and off, but I strongly recommend that you don't assign sailors to the deck and AA guns all the time. See, there is this small glitch on the game that makes the crew assigned to the guns to get hurt when you are attacked by depht charges. Even submerged, the game interprets that the crew are on the guns, and they will get hurt when a DC explodes nearby.

Also, don't get in a fight with planes in TMO. In TMO, you don't evade planes, you avoid them. Read Ducimus introduction to Naval Warfare on the WWII Pacific Theater on the Sticky Forums and you will see that subs on the Pacific stayed down during the day coming up only at night. This around Imperial Waters. Of course, in other regions you can stay up during the day. From my experience so far, in 1942, East China Sea, South of Formosa and other small islands you are relatively safe. Around this areas never use TC above 512 during the day because you'll have time to submerge if the SD radar detects something. And if you are being harassed constantly, submerge, go to 200 ft deep and stay there until it's night. Ducimus airplanes can detect you at very deep. So be careful.
And anywhere east of Volcano Islands you are free to roam as you like.

This said, I have to say that I only use AA guns to attack Sampans or to have some fun during harbor raids. :arrgh!:

And, welcome to the ship sinking business!!!
