Graphics glitch

New pc here, and a new install of SH4 Gold.

Game runs great, but almost every time a torpedo hits a ship I get a weird graphichs glitch where its hull and deck disappear right at torpedo impact.

Anyone seen this before and have a solution?

Windows 7 64 bit
Ati 5850 1 gb with latest catalyst drivers

These are my current settings but I have tried turning things off, on, down, up, etc and I still get this problem.

Edit: This is stock, no mods installed yet.

Is it patched? I seem to remember some weird things with the out of the box install.....

SH4 Gold is SH4 + Uboat Missions so it is version 1.5 right out of the box.
I have found it's cause.

It is caused by Anti-Aliasing.
Setting AA to 4x or 8x or whatever causes it.
Setting AA to "Use Application settings" fixes the glitch, but of course then I have NO AA in effect at all.
?? Do others have this issue with an ATI card? Is there a workaround?

If I turn the "Ship 3d Damage" slider all the way left, turning it off, I can use Anti-Aliasing and the AA works fine, but of course there is no ship damage shown in the game.

If I set AA to "Use aplication settings" which turns AA off, I can set 3d damage effects on.

I can't have both it seems.:nope:

Fixed.

It was caused by AAMode, also known as Multi-sample AA. I can have 8x AA, 16x AF, but no AAMode for some reason.:-?

Game looks awesome again.:sunny:
