Hi Everyone,
Bdu sent me to patrol a sector off of Buenes Aires, I see that the harbor in Montevideo is shown in red, which means an enemy harbor, but the GWX manual says that Argentina was neutral doing the war.
There is a freighter sitting in port I could sink. What do I do?
BTW, I tried sinking two Argentinian fishing boats. My first torpedeo was set to magetic, and it just went right underneath without exploding. I assume that was because the fishing boats are wooden hulled? My second was set to impact, but at a depth of 1 m, but in rough weather, I guess it set it off course. I wasted two torpedoes on fishing boats! Although, they were armed.:arrgh!:

If in doubt, shoot at it.
If its neutral, well, more tonnage for you.
WARNING: don't shoot at hospital ships, they equal -4000 renoun

Argentina was indeed neutral for most of the war.

Three Argentinian ships were attacked by u-boats.

As pointed out, Montevideo is the capital of Uruguay, but they also remained neutral for most of the war.

Neutral ships earn negative renown. It's less tonnage for you.

Thanks guys. I decided NOT to sink any ships because I figured neutral is neutral, but I still wonder why the port was in RED. Uruguay was neutral until Feb 15, 1945, and this was in February 1943. ?? That was the whole reason I went in there.
There was a large Colombian freighter also in port, with engines running and lights blazing, but unfortunately, Colombia stayed neutral until November 26, 1943, so it too was neutral when my uboat was there.
So I ended up going northeast to the west coast of Afrika where I encountered a couple of Flower class destroyers from the Free French. I tried sinking the first, but missed, so I had to evade them. Damn, really wanted to get those Free Frenchmen. :haha:
