I think the sh5 forum is setting a record for the most LOCKED THREADS. :hmmm:
Hell, one was locked while I was reading the different posts. :haha:

When you have a rash of locked threads on any website it needs to be adressed and looked into.

There are two locked threads on the front page. That's hardly a record.
There will be a lot of records set in the next few weeks. Poor Neal

That's misleading.
I said "SH5 Forum" There's 6 locked threads on the first 2 pages.
SH4 0 locked in 6 pages.
SH3 1 locked in 6 pages.

Misleading how? GT had far more locked threads during the last US Presidential Election Cycle.

Check out the arma2 forum. They have way more locked threads for reasons beyond believe. (freedom of speech):haha:

Haha!
It's a while since I have been on the Arma forums, but I remember that
Placebo favored an 'intense' moderation style back in the OFP days. I'm
guessing he is up to his old tricks still.

Around here it's not the norm.
But then again neither is SH5. :haha:

any percieved over active modderation i think is the result of the average age of many of our new members which is much younger with sh5 and many times younger members are used to other game forums that are more "out of control" and allow flaming or look the other way with the way fellow members get treated so i think the number of times infractions need to be given out lately is much higher with sh5 but still not all that bad.
as for threads being closed i think that goes in proportion to the emotions involved and the way PR has been handled for sh5 peoples feelings and emotions are very strong and a few times it goes too far and it makes people say the wrong thing or overlook/ignore warnings or repeat behavior that they were asked to curtail.

I created a thread that appeared to draw too much controversy and was closed by Neal, but with his excellent forethought and fitting final statement at closure.

A rash of lunacy preceeding the release of a new title... go figure.
Right, there's locked threads because people dont search before they post, hence there's loads of threads discussing about the same issue. Locking them is common thing to do on every forum I've been to.
Hell, it beats having the moved to the general games board! :har::stare:

I can top that one Dowly, as my recent thread reference donations got parked at "Subsim Review" where it and others appear to sit in Limbo, unaddressed and gathering dust.

Actually, I think the moderators are doing a pretty good job keeping things relatively smooth on this forum.
