I just want to say my opinion on this whole SH5 deal.

We can't rate the game on something we haven't played yet, only seen for a couple minutes at a time.

And it is much more open to modders, which would improve possible issues encountered (like adding 1943-1945).

We can't rate the moddability on something we haven't modded yet. Here's hoping though!

anyway, for what i've seen most people here are against the DRM, not the game itself.

I think that's accurate. Humans being humans, once they have made a decision to not purchase a game because of DRM, it helps psychologically to rubbish the game as if it's a rubbish game, then they won't be missing out by not playing it, because of the DRM as it was a rubbish game anyway.

There are lots of people that will be purchasing the game that will still be complaining about DRM though. Like me. I don't see why just because someone has no internet connection, they shouldn't be able to play the game. I personally, do not subscribe to the 'I'm alright Jack' philosophy of game playing, because I can empathise. I also don't subscribe to the 'the tide of technology is too powerful to turn back' philosophy. It isn't, if you don't like it, it will get changed. It has happened time and time again.

Nisgeis; whilst you may have a point, the negative vibes started well before the DRM bombshell fell.

They always do, but the avalanche (of negativity) occurred immediately after the DRM cascade failure.

It seams to me that the amount of negativity has been directly
proportional to the amount of information that has been released.

It will be interesting to see how this script vs ini file works out. No more warning about how it will over write other mod changes! There one big bug factor gone, because even all the dev's had to keep the same copy up to date.

I'd say it had been inversely proportional. The less info, the more negativity. Perhaps though, we are both right and it's like the behaviour of air at the speed of sound. The less info, the more negativity, until you reach a certain point, the crossover point, where the laws of negativity are reversed and at this point, no matter how much material is released, it will be viewed in a negative light, due to previous lack of info.
