I was curious as to starting a campaign that is as close to real time as possible, of course I can't make it completely 24 hours = 24 hours. Has anyone tried to do one of these? Have you had any success or was it too boring?

There's an urban myth about a guy who spent a year in his bedroom and did the whole war at 1tc.

The tale goe's they took him away wrapped in a wet sheet to the Mad House. :haha:

I did a (close to) real time campaign but I DID have to shut the sim off when I was at work or in bed (The wife would NOT have appreciated the cry of "ALAAAAAAAAAARM !!!!" followed by me jumping out of bed in a mad scramble to get to the computer).
It was interesting, but you have to supliment yourself. Just stareing at the computer blankly for hours on end despite how much you do it normally, will drive you insane. What I would do is start up the sim, and then I'd work in the room like cleaning, working on songs I was writing, building circuit bent instruments, reading a book, etc.
My "mostly real time" campaign lasted a couple months. I only did a coupld of tours before real life started to seriously interfere with it.

This might be me in a few years :wah:

@Blacklight: Awesome, wanted to see if another person gave it a go. Yea I am sure just staring at the screen would kill me, but I could always watch the directors cut of Das Boot over and over :arrgh!:. I am not sure if I am going to attempt this yet, but I might in the coming months. Of course I can't do it all at 1tc that would drive you nuts!

Goldenrivet(I think???:hmmm:) did one last year and wrote a pretty good thread on it. Made for some interesting reading.
Sorry, too lazy right now to search for it-still too early in the am.
