Yeah that is great news. I knew it was coming but so soon is really unexpected. I do get access to a WIP section on the ROF forums and I didn't hear a peep about this.

I'll believe it when I see it. Good way to boost final sales.

Playing "RoF" with the patch now. It's great, but Dynamic Campaigns still need to realised as do a few other items.
The HDR option in graphics is also causing problems for many of us as it results in oversaturation that cannot be corrected with the new Gamma setting.
Overall, the game is coming along quite nicely, and I love the new Fokker D.VIIF. A beast.

Do's anyone else have this offline patch ?

I don't understand what you mean by "final sales". The game is an ongoing and evolving sim that has no stated "completion" date. The product still has many features being worked on at the moment (Dogfight Servers among them).
As for asking if anyone else is using the new patch in the post above...just ask the thousands who play on the RoF Forums. You'll find the major gripe is the lack of a Dynamic and fully realised Campaign (though a scripted one comes with the new patch). Yet both Falcon 4.0 and IL2 took quite some time to iron out all their respective problems to become the icons they are in the Virtual Flying community.
I'm not defending Neoqb, but I know they are still working on this Siim, where most other Devs would just be handing out the occasional fix if that. Each Patch for "RoF" is more of a 'next step' in the game's progresion.

Let's try it a different way.

Have they released a patch that makes it so I can play offline without connecting to them ?

Yes, Firewall, the new patch gives you the option to play offline at startup.

Doesn't work for me however. The first thing that happens when you fire up RoF is it checks for any updates BEFORE you log in. If it cannot contact the neoqb server then you go no further. At least, that's my experience. Unless I've missed something somewhere that is :hmmm:

Getting pretty close to trolling now.

That the best you can come up with when you don't have an intelligent answer ?

You don't have a clue what ofline, no internet connection to play means do you ?

Not even going to bother arguing with you. Waste of time.

I'm going to make this so simple even you'll get it.

1. Can I play it at 30,000ft while flying to a SubSim meet ?

2. Can I play it in the middle of the Sahara Desert 1000 miles from nowhere?

3. Can I play it on the Moon ?

Other words with this patch can I play it at any of these places ?

Without Internet

"The LOGIN OFFLINE feature will now be available. The mode of login can be chosen in the user authorization screen. I remind you that you need to download the latest update (1.011) for offline gaming and the first logon must be in LOGIN ONLINE. After that, you'll be free to choose the login mode you prefer. Also, I'd like to stress that after any new content purchase, you must LOGIN ONLINE for new content activation. After activation, purchased content will, likewise, be available either in offline or online mode. If you decide to LOGIN ONLINE after active offline flying, the game will prompt you to synchronize your achievements with the master-server automatically. That process can take some time, however you will have an option to abort it. Of course, the main gaming mode is still ONLINE, as it was initially designed, so not all game features will be available in offline mode. But this should address the main problems you asked us to handle, which is really our main priority. You can now spend (most of) your time within Rise Of Flight without connection to the internet."

The first time yes, but from what I could gather, not after that?

From what I understand you still need to be connected to the server in order to advance with the off-line campaign.
http://riseofflight.com/Blogs/post/2010/02/26/Update-1011.aspx

IMPORTANT!!! You can get through campaign missions in any mode, ONLINE or OFFLINE. But the next mission will be available only after you complete the previous and your achievements data is sent to master-server. In this case, it might be easier to simply be logged in ONLINE while you play. But the choice is yours.

Actually, you don't. though it is easy to overlook.
You don't need to connect to the server at all, just to play offline. The desktop shortcut points to the "rof_updater", so don't use that one.
Follow this path to launch without connecting...you can even make a desktop shortcut.

You can't install the game there, but you can play most game modes
apart from campaign mode there. No internet required.

Yep, I discovered this only yesterday on the RoF forums. I hadn't realised that the updater could be side-stepped. All is well with the world now :DL
