I wonder if manual tarketing and TDC is much different from SH4.
That is if there is a manual tarketing in SH5:hmmm:
I won`t be suprised if there will be no manual targeting since interactive crew is so important.

That godawful abortion of a periscope interface screenshot is the only indication we have of what the ingame mechanics will be like. The engine 'gauge' on that looks like the one on my 3-year old's Fisher Price tractor.
Not promising.

SH4 crew also help you with manual tarketing, they do chart work and plot
tarket speed and course.:DL

would be interesting to know...in a german preview its said, you still can set torpedo values manually. but how far this goes...i dont know.
but devs could tell us...

oh yeah.....the last days , you hear a lot of infos by them !
hmmm....do you really believe that there is a possibility to leave manual targeting 'out' ? ...would be a disaster....

my daddy used to tell me "son if you see something without a price you dont need to ask because you cant afford it"
he also used to say "people will always tell you what you want to hear but if you dont see it then its probaly not included"
these are two of the truest things he ever said to me :yep:

The silence from UBI on this very point is devastating, imo.
It's almost as if they are unwilling to let us know about this aspect of the game with any definable clarity.

I fear that if it is not glitzy graphic eye candy, it won't be included :nope:
Who needs manual targeting when you can get uber leet explosions reflecting off of nice purdy water effects???

I've that feel in my stomach [ <--- epic translation for Bauchgefühl]that the picture from Keldunk shows the whole "TDC".
pfffff, who needs Winkel zum Bug and stuff like that.

There will be no TDC in the finished game, but one of the Bosun's "active abilities" (unlocked when you sink 100,000 tons) allows him to compute a fire control solution in his head in under a second, even when playing at 100% realism.

I think the same, a scripted solution of fire depending of the skills or super powers of the crew , with the only interaction of deep and torpedo type, ..:hmmm:

what really, or are you messing about?:hmmm:

I think in the perfect Silent Hunter game the player would be the captain and only target the torpedoes to the extent the real captain did. The "one man boat" makes things harder and doesn't require that UBI code in the crew members' contributions correctly but it's not the best situation.
