gwx running error ?

hello i installed gwx like it said and when i try running it it gets to the end of the loading cycle and then beeps and says warning there is a new not implemented page page ingame options why is gwx not loading

no sh3 commander is not installed i clicked on the icon on the desktop for gwx silent hunter 3 and im getting the error and im using windows vista and sh3 was working fine and it was patched to 1.4 and it was a clean install no traces of sh3 on the computer and im getting an error when i try to load it

here what I found quickly.

This is how I installed on Vista.
Install Sh3
Patch to 1.4
Make a copy of the Silent Hunter III folder for easier restore.
Install GWX
Install GWX1.02
Run JSGME to install the GWX options you want
Update StarForce
Start Sh3 once, I started an career, went out 50km and returned to port.
Install Sh3Commander 2.7
Install GWX102Cfg4SH3Cmdr
Run SH3Cmdr, pick your settings and go...

but i installed 3.0 the latest gwx is there something im doing wrong so i can get it to work

alright, the procedure must be like this:
be sure to have no traces of SH3 on your system, make a clean install, patch to 1.4 (if you haven't a newer disk, already patched), the the GWX install (just be sure all files are in the same folder, the exe will do the rest; or you got the single-file, this is easiest), there is an issue with re-booting then, but I can't remember well (pls read in the vista-thread).

There is a page missing which SH3 cant find so aborts
Either it wasnt a clean SH3 install that has a residue of a mod left in
or
You are using Vista

If using Vista I always install outside the program files folder
Anywhere - make a folder on the C drive and install to that
If you install into program files Vista will hold some files as compatability files
If you install a mod then start the game Vista will chuck those compatability files back in making it fubar
I cant for the life of me remember how to get to those compatabilty files - there may be a tab up top whilst you are in you Silent HunterIII folder

Best bet is to uninstall all and then reinstall OUTSIDE the program files
Never had a problem using that method

Not sure if Windows 7 has something similar - wouldnt surprise me

i finally got sh3 patched to 1.4 and then installed grey wolves and then the patch i go to launch the game it starts to load gwx and then the red bar reaches the end and then says silent hunter 3 has stopped working what do i have to do to use this mod i didnt know it was this complicated if you can help me with this i would appreciate it its very frustrating i will check back here in the morning

does anyone know what im doing wrong at this point im also using the no cd option would that cause grey wolves not to work and should i buy the gold pack that neal said is starforce free and already patched to 1.4

You didnt say whether Vista or windows 7

Either way
Try start/control panel/problem reports and solutions

On the left click - see problems to check

In there will be your instance of SH3 closing

Right of that will be view details

Post whats in there - someone may be able to help

Mine shut down last night with this error

Fault Module Name: SH3Sim.act

Which is a problem with a unit ingame - have a rough idea what it is as only just added it

Sounds like your grey wolves are corrupt download them again from another source there are plenty out there.
as in my other post this will work

I had it too , StarForce , ProgramFiles ( if installed the Sh3 in this directory) and more .

And now my Sh3 runs like a charm , smooth , to be honest , I don't see any thing with the game , no problems at all . I have installed :

* Sh3 + patch 1.v4b
* GWX3.0 GOLD
* SH3Cmdr3.2

" Ok, I've got it running through the following steps. Perhaps it might help anyone else with problems in windows7:

1. Remove sf from previous installation with the official removal tool.

2. Re-install sh3 but do not run it yet.

3. patch it to 1.4b (run as administrator otherwise it won't work)

4. My version of sh3 came with sf, so I ran the crack, as posted above in this thread.

5. Change the desktop resolution to 1024 x 768.

6. run sh3 without the Cd in the tray.

7. go to options and de-select full screen so it will run sh3 in its own window. Exit sh3

8. Change desktop back to my original resolution.

9. Install Grey Wolves.

sh3/grey wolves now runs but in its own small window which I have to squint at, but it's better than nothing.

The alternative is to change my desktop resolution to 1024 x768 everytime I want to run sh3/grey wolves in full screen mode

You either have a faulty download or a residual file from a previous installation attempt.
