Here are the latest news:
Lehmann Radio News proudly reports the newest U-boat ace and receiver of the Knights Kross, Oberleutnant z. S. Kurt Losh, commander the U-97 with a total sink tonnage of 158.000, 46.293 in the last patrol, that gived him the most wanted medal in the u-boat force!
The commemoration party will be held in the famous Black Cat in St. Nazaire, expecting a lot of entertainment, cabaret, girls and drinks on the house!
Special appearance by the great kriegsmarine hero Balz and his merry crew, singing and dancing the famous hoochie-whoochie!
Other's KM heroes are expected like Raul deBusen and the proud crew of the U-46; Willenbrook and the gallant crew of the U-96 among others!
Kriegsmarine reporter Leutnant Werner will be following the party and taking photos (if he can keep up...)
All Kaleunts and crews are invited!

sorry to tell you U-110 will not make it.
still out south of Rockall's and 14eels still loaded we wait for the fat ones to appear.
had my suit ironed, my black shoes shining, the tie knotted, but the party will be without us.
but: drink and dance as long and as much you can!
there will be some more festivities in the future, hopefully.
one round is up to me. :D

U-207 reporting. We can't make it as we're operating in a pack with U-110 in the same area. We're a bit lighter on eels but just as deadly.

I think Red Lioness refers to the artist.
The picture is of Sgt Cheri (formerly Cheery) Littlebottom (http://wiki.lspace.org/wiki/Cheery_Littlebottom), chief forensics investigator for the Ankh-Morpork City Watch.
Being familiar with her career and achievements, I would certainly take any assocation with her as a great compliment! :DL

Don't know, really. It's possible the artist made her look a little more vampish than Pratchett's more detailed descriptions would lead one to believe, but of course what passes for "vampish" in dwarf culture probably wouldn't merit so much as a raised eyebrow among humans.
