i know there are alot of very unhappy people about, but i am still looking forward to this game.
i think there will be some addons which i am also looking forward to.
yes there are issues, to many to post, but all in all, i am excited about sh5.
probably in 6 months, we'll have a realy good game.:up::up::D

I think we need more threads prior the release to create more panic / discomfort about the same 3-4 issues we don't even know as facts yet.
So this thread clearly doesn't help with it's positive attitude :hmmm:

i am also very excited atm. i dont see any real problems with drm and i think, sh5 could become the best subsim ever. most important point for me is a bugfree game. if it will be like that, i will puchase a copy, for sure. and i will be waiting for the first mods and for the first addon... i only will be unhappy, if they dont betatest it like the last titles...

no beta. be sure about that, dude. wait for the first impressions here...they will show us, what to expect.
i wonder to see the game in the amazon sell ranking raising from place 420 to place 215 this morning...shows many people are not really informed about the whole thing behind the marketing show and preorder, just to news in gaming magazines.

When has a SH game ever been bug free?? but that does not bother me as much as the DRM why should I ask permission from UBI to play a game I paid for. I dont own the rights to the game thats fair enough but have to ask their permission to play :damn:

edit2: because of the new moddingpossibilities mihai pronounced, i am very excited about new mods concerning realism. the stock game will be oriented to the casual gamers market (those, who dont complain about drm or short camapaign and who are the majority of sh5 buyers) and mods will turn the game to the realistic sim i am looking for...

I appreciate the work offered here very much, but remember: nobody is irreplaceble. If they dont do the job, others will. If SH5 sells well, lots of new people (and modders) will get access to it. did you notice the change which happened between sh3 and sh4? new people began to work on it, a new generation of modders. will be the same with sh5, for sure. as long as the games are moddable, modders will work on them and the community will get their realism mods.

yaeh, thats the point. and do you remember the athmosphere here on subsim when sh3 was released? everybody was complaining this and that. but after some patches and mods, the whole community had their copies on the shelves...

Well you gained a lot of " new " modders in SH4 as they wouldnt play SH3 as were uboats not fleet boats
Same reason a lot of modders didnt follow SH3 over to SH4
I have no doubt there will be an influx of new modders esp IF the tools promised actually make it to release

I've never modded any of the previous games (aside from a few cfg file tweaks) but if these tools are easy enough to use, I may play around with it a bit and make my own realism mods. Who knows.
I'd love to have realistic dials and gauges on the interface, to start.
