Nothing to add on this title...

Any reason for such a fauxpard again, to release infos on the modability (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=1249904&postcount=14) after weeks of speculation??? After the temper here turned into a wild animal? Is this wanted? Is it all strategy? Or is it simply just a lack of professionalism?

What is it, that makes the apparently non existing marketing to be such deaf-mute? I simply do not understand...

:stare:

Any suggestions on that?

Please appreciate that the developers in Romania are not the marketing machine nor the representatives of Ubisoft Head Office nor the people responsible for DRM decisions.

Has anyone thought that maybe what Romania are trying to say here is that look guys...

Ubisoft have screwed us and we have been forced to do certain things we know you won't be happy with.

But what we have secretly done is make the whole game highly moddable like never before - so what they are giving us is a complete Submarine simulation framework. If the GWX team did what they did to SH3 with its limitations think what the community could do with SH5 if their modding features ring true.

I think we should all be a bit more excited than we are about this prospect and I'm personally glad Romania came out and gave us this info - its clear to me what their message was.

On top of that we still haven't seen the bloody game yet - so lets wait and see.

The only thing that is an issue is DRM.

you are absolutely right!
there is a thin line between the expectations of the SubSim-community and a commercial success. all the more an open information policy would have been needed to not lose one's temper and to ..... ah, just see my sig.

Ubi's stinking suits are in disarray. The stupid PR monkey made a lot of crappy statements two days ago, basically saying, you guys will love OSP.

Sure thing, we all want to be controlled from Ubi HQ. Every time Ubi suits open their mouth, they screw up!

the way i see it it is simple really, UBI screws the pooch then tells the devs to say something to make people forget about that "little" DRM thing

well what the hell are the devs gonna do? really?

they only most favored subjects we had was modability and in game footage and the lack of in game footage

so the let this info about modding out to feed the wolves so they are happy again

still having no in game footage released (im assuming) is because they might be having trouble playing the game online themselves

Dan: Mihai, how is testing going?
Mihai: I can't connect to that bl$$dy Ubisoft DRM server!
Dan: What are you doing about it?
Mihai: I'm $&@!@ writing a crack now!
Dan: Well hurry up, this thing goes live in less than four weeks, and those wolves over at Subsim want their gameplay video!
Mihai: I'm writing as fast as I can, but I'm no longer an 18 year old haxxor, these things take time!
Mihai: Damn! Scheduled maintenance outage for 4 hours. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......

At least they learn something about submarines, Dive and scape, stay deep and silent until SHV surfaced.

But if the game isn´t good enough and DRM cause severe problems like sh4 fade protection or worse they will have to deal with Gunfire from the waiting destroyers and airplanes .:hmmm:

Ubisoft's Marketing of Silent Hunter Five has been a complete and total failure from day one.

Take a look at the official silent hunter 3 website...

this site had a WEALTH of information available about the game and it's features... there was TONS of screen shots and even videos SEVERAL WEEKS even a couple of months before release.

http://silenthunteriii.com/uk/gallery_screens.php

I remember visiting this site every single day for the latest information, the newest screens, the newest videos... and lots of information was available for a few months PRIOR to release date.

if you look at the silent hunter 5 web site...

http://silent-hunter.uk.ubi.com/silent-hunter-5/

Basic trailer... forum button... register button.

THATS IT!!!!! :06::06::06::06:

it has been the same garbage for 2 months or more now!

No new content, no new videos, no new screen shots, no interviews etc etc.

what few shots and vids they have released has been put on this bull**** facebook page with a whopping 826 fans (as of this post).

I have said it before and i will say it again, if the person in charge of marketing SH5 were also marketing one of MY company's products or services...

HE WOULD BE FIRED - FLAT OUT!

After reading some of the "no compromise posts" I HOPE THEY KEEP THE DRM.

I read a good compromise post and everyone made it clear it's "My way or the Highway"

After the release let the new members come in and blow the old ones out.

Time for a changeing of the guard anyways.

We are not buying "developers in Romania" but the product - permanently limited and shared with seller !?!
Without even some marketing effort or demo!

...and idea is clear - let's do it with SHV as there is no competition in that field.

Let's make it console ready ... and give them "modability lure" on hook!

...and cast it by developers - more likely they will bite!

I've never blamed the DEV's of any game company. I know there trying to make the best game possible. I blame those who make the decisions. Administration.
