Been playing it for a long time now, and it's great. What GWX (and WAC, and apparently LSH3) has that OM doesn't is the graphic feel. Lurker doesn't have a big enough team (if he has a team at all) to make the cool harbors and other stuff.

The other thing SH4 doesn't have that SH3 does is SH3 Commander. If there was a similar function for SH4 I would drop SH3 altogether, but I just can't live with out the 1.7 billion crew names, the click-once-to change things, and of course the ship names. Without that I can't support SH4 fully.

But I agree - SH4, with its better crew management and other functions, modded and fixed up to those standards, would be the exact game I'm looking for. I would like the SH3 interface, though.:rock:

Im happy with gwx3 olcgui mfm right now but if gwx4 is to be and with the same quality work it is certainly a must have.
I am especially unhappy of sh5 since my gaming pc doesnt have acess to internet so you can imagine what this means...

i think its safe to say sh5 wont be a sim weather they remove DRM or not so in my mind its no choice, if you want a truely new uboat sim then GWX4 is the way to get it but who knows if those who were working on it feel like continuing their work, i hope they find the motivation to do it.

for fleetboats there is TMO or RFB and for the uboats it would be good to have Op Monsun and GWX4

But let's be honest. GWX was a team of talented modders held together by some good guidance. There's no reason the right hand can't get together a similar team. It doesn't have to be the same one to get the desired results.

But let's be honest. GWX was a team of talented modders held together by some good guidance. There's no reason the right hand can't get together a similar team. It doesn't have to be the same one to get the desired results.

Well, i still say you guys will be back. When i say, "you guys" i mean GWX as an entity. Plenty of people have rotated in and out of GWX, myself being one example. So it doesn't always have to be the old hands. Although im sure KL will still be calling the shots over there, and i'll stop my commentary on that note.

Anywho, the fact you'd even take to time to make this poll would indicate that someone, somewhere, has thought about. It may not happen right away, but i think it will eventually happen. If it doesn't, well, *shrug* oh well, modders come and go all the time, and the uboat community will have to adapt to life without their favorite name brand.

Well sure. I voted for none. Operation Monson has been out and worked over for two years. Great mod. GWX is great also but why wait when you can play an excellent mod now? :D

Because (1) there's more to the U-boat modding scene than just GWX, and (2) I do not support the DRM scheme with which SH5 will be released.

Come on, let the dead rest. With what, 50% of the GWX 2 crew AWOL including some of the key members of the team, how on earth could there be another GWX? (Well, no one's to say there's not going to be GWX4, but will it reach the standards of GWX3? I doubt it very much.)

SH5 is gonna be better than GWX4 would ever be. Just for one thing, the graphics in GWX4 can never be as good as SH5. You people have lost your minds voting like this on something that hasn't been released yet.

Having said all this rubbish, yo guys are never gonna admit that SH5 is excellent, even when you know in your hearts that it is, just to save face.

Great ideas, Carotio! I thought a long time ago that it would be the perfect name for a completely new subsim, but your use is quite good.:rock:

As to GWX4, I realize that that is a very small posibility, but I also recognize that the term itself is just a euphemism for "some unnamed but reasonably complete new supermod". For me part of the deal would have to be some of SH3 Commander's features as well, including crew and ship names.

As for SH5, I'll have to see how this whole DRM thing pans out. Marean M has mentioned some modding ability that looks very very good.

So it really depends on the outcome of the current controversy.

I would far sooner pay $50 bucks for GWX 4.0 than SH5 with DRM.

I want to be able to play offline. I spend lots of time on my computer offline. I travel by plane, i go to my cabin, i go to relatives with no internet connection.

Give me GWX 4.0. I'll happily pay for it.

Looking around this community I should imagine that would be a possibility.

IMHO it would take a pretty charismatic and talented person to bring that situation into a real cohesive entity.
